Kind, accommodating, safe
Liberia Shuttle Service was easy to work with. I paid in full in advance and they were there to pick us up as promised. They assisted with luggage, provided us with waters, and acted as a tour guide on our way from the airport to our hotel, which was a great introduction to the country. I recommend the service and would definitely use them again!

We have flown into San Jose in the past, but decided to try Liberia on this trip.. Landed on time and deplaned outside on the tarmac.. We did pack our carry-on bags heavy and there is a bit of a walk before you enter the airport and Costa Rican customs.. One we were in the building things moved very smoothly.. Everyone from the airport was polite and friendly, and we were able to get through customs and rent a car without being hustled (too much..)!! The airport itself is simple, they keep it clean, and they run things efficiently so you’ll be in and out quickly!! Pura Vida!!

Small airport. No A/C and only two bathrooms in the baggage area. There is A/C in the departure area. Only two restaurants to choose from there, but all the shops and restaurants are open even by 530am which is good for last minute gifts.

I meant to visit the library but accidentally ended up here. The men at the airport took away my nephew (he’s 9) and put him Into the army. the food was pretty good tho.

Nice, clean facility. It gets a bit cramped in the afternoons during high season but they're doing some construction so hopefully that will help once finished. WiFi is free but gets slow when there's lots of people. As of Feb. '18 only two fast food restaurants past security. Again looks like some of the construction will address this. All in all not terrible, but not great either. Still it beats driving up from San Jose.

Small, crowded airport. Only 1 sit down restaurant (Players) that costs far too much and won't supply tap water - bottled water is absurdly expensive. They also overcharge if you pay with dollars instead of colones, and charged us the dollar price even though we paid with credit. Security was slow but polite. Very few outlets to charge your phone. Also very loud. Reasonably clean, with polite staff who seem to all speak English. We were told to get here 3 hours early, but could have arrived 90 minutes early and made our flight. The air conditioning is nice. There are no rental car agencies inside of the airport- you need to walk quite a way to get to one. Also, set up transportation (via airport or hotel shuttle) ahead of time and ignore the sketchy taxi drivers who bombard you when you exit the airport. They will lie to you and say anything to get your business.

Arriving and departing guys grab your bags for tips to take to/from curb (for taxi, driver, rental car van etc) which is about 20' away. You literally have to fight them off. Security is fast but wildly arbitrary re shoes, belts, watches etc.
Upstairs waiting lounge is HOT- cpl of floor fans for hundreds crammed in w not enough seats.
Free wifi is a plus.

Small airport but has clean WC, places to shop sourvenirs and places to eat. Not enough waiting seat on departures concourse but at gates has plenty seats. Airport is located between Liberia and Sardinal/Playas del Coco. Personnel.is very friendly. Kudos. A red taxi from Airport to Playa del Coco cost around $35 one way, one person. Very affordable. Some taxis has no AC. Enjoy local weather. Nice country by the way.

There were 6 of us going to the Dreams Resort. We booked the shuttle service thru Express Cab We were met outside the airport by Express Cab people. We were escorted to the shuttle bus, given a cold rag and bottled water. The driver was courteous and pointed out several sights and even stopped along the way for pics. We used this service to/from the Resort and if we go back, we will use them again.

It's a decent airport.

It's about 45 min from the beach.

The airport wifi is usually overloaded and useless.

There 2 food options, players which has hot waitress and terrible food (aside for the fish tacos) the chicken fingers are leathery and almost iunchewable the country fried chicken Burger tasted like it was imported by another counter frozen and defrosted multiple tiled again unchewable and tasteless, but the the pizza was ok..

We didn't try Quiznos but wish we did.

The airport staff were nice and the place was air conditioned..

I've been to Liberia Airport 5 times in my lifetime. Each time was a pleasant experience but this most recent visit I was very excited to see the remodel done sometime in the last 5 years. Your airport experience is now completely indoors with AC! Everything is very streamed line and makes your experience in Liberia very pleasant.

There are a couple large and two small gift shops in the airport if you forget a present for someone. Be aware, you are able to purchase liquids over 3oz. Don't do this if you aren't checking a bag because you'll be responsible for checking that item once you get to the US if that's your next destination. We made that mistake with buying some awesome hot sauce. Also eat before you come to the airport. Food is extremely expensive once you go through security.

Nice, small airport. We arrived almost 3 hours early for our flight to JFK which was very unnecessary, we were through security in less than 10 minutes. One of the guys working the conveyor was the least friendly Costa Rican I had met in the 12 days in the country, but whatever it was very fast. Would've been five stars but the public wifi was down which made passing 2.5 hours less enjoyable. Everything is of course expensive, and it's weird that they have two identical stores next to each other in an airport with 7 gates.

From what I've heard, this airport is much more pleasant than San Jose.
