We have stayed in Aninga Lodge for two nights and we thought it was wonderful! The hotel is located directly in the National Park of Tortugero. Therefore there is jungle all around.
The bungalows/rooms were very clean and I particularly liked that there was no real wall but rather "windows" all around - they were well secured with mosquito nets.
They had a jungle path of around 1km in length on which you could experience the jungle aound you.
Staff was incredibly friendly - when we overslept for our dinner, they organised some delicious fruit for us, so we did not have to go to bed starving ;)
The biggest advantage is also their biggest down point: you are located right inside the National Parc's jungle. Therefore you are pretty restricted to the area of your hotel and cannot roam around as freely - they have a lot of birds and other animals though.response / report this review -

Acogedoras habitaciones rodeadas de naturaleza. No hay televisión por lo cual es un ambiente muy tranquilo para amanecer con el sonido de los congos.

Fantastiskt att ligga och lyssna på djungelns ljud med bara nät istället för fönster. Apor svingar sig i träden ovanför huvudet. Leguaner ligger och solar vid poolen.

Aninga is a moderate, simple hotel just outside Tortuguero National Park. It has all the essentials you need for such a remote region of Costa Rica - bed, ceiling fan, safe, and hot shower. There is no A/C or TV and a spotty Wi-Fi connection in the reception area (this is the same for nearly all the lodges in the region). Buffet-style meals are included with your stay as well as some guided tours of the town and canal. Turtle tours are extra, but well worth it! Overall a perfect hotel for anyone looking for a nature intense trip. ~Theresa Parent, Central America Vacation.

Good lodge even if, of course, it's not the cleanest place on earth. There's WiFi only near the reception. The food is not bad but without a very large variety. Rooms are big but both the toilet and the beds are a bit small.
