Very nice place with good ambiance, close to beach and the forest just behind. Jorge is a super host, nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place

Except the quite far location from the beach, the hostel is excellent. The space, cleanness, hospitality and kindness of the owners makes the hostel an excellent choice for pack backers.

A great, sociable place to stay. Chelo, the owner, was absolutely amazing and always went out of her way to help us with everything she could, she honestly went above and beyond!
Would stay again in a heartbeat and I highly recommend this hostel to anyone travelling to Puerto Viejo!response / report this review -

This family run hostel feels like a home away from home. Great kitchen facilities and clean, comfortable rooms and showers. The staff are lovely and helpful and will give you the best tips for your stay. Look no where else for reasonably priced and great accommodation.

Hostel en Puerto Viejo a 3 minutos caminando de la calle principal. Zona con hamacas y cocina al aire libre de 200m2 Gran ambiente, no party hostel! Una gran familia!!! En sólo un año sin duda el mejor Hostel de Puerto!

I really only need two things from a hostel; electricity and potable water. This hostel has neither. On top of that, the rooms are tiny and stuffy, the kitchen and bathrooms are outdated and filthy and it's not really conveniently located. Worst 17$ I've ever spent. Should have slept in the jungle.
