We have stayed a Jungles Edge a couple times. We enjoy the bungalows more than the AC rooms. There is an excellent surf instructor with pool sessions before hitting the waves. That seems to be helpful if you want to learn more than being pushed into foam. Nice yoga studios and martial arts programs. Wonderful jungle sounds to wake up to. But not much privacy. Nice restaurant bar that seems best for breakfast and lunch. Bring a car, or expect a 10 min walk to the beach.

A great place to stay in Nosara. Quieter than staying right by the beach, but still only 5-10 minutes from all the "action". Beautiful views and good food. Check out the fitness and Jiu-jitsu classes as well.

Large complex with view only from the villa above. Food is by chef Kyle (very very good!) large and open fitness area, surfboards rent and surf classes available. Located on the "main road" minutes ftom the beach by car

This was my first time visiting Costa Rica, and I had no idea what I was going to experience as I was attending a week-long BJJ camp in the jungle.

Let me just say - WOW!!! I was blown away by the cleanliness of it all; from the cabins, the main dining hall, the shower facility and the hilltop infinity pool.

David and his team do an OUTSTANDING job of making sure everyone was taken care of on a daily basis. The level of service attention and the way they made us feel like part of their family, it just felt like being spoiled by your closest friends.

Chef Kyle's creative passion shines through all the natural abundance that Costa Rica has to offer - fresh daily made salsa, guacamole, humus, beans, rice, seafood, chicken, beef and fruit. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. It was easily the best I've ever eaten while away and on the road. You wanna know what this man's up to, follow him on Instagram @Chef_onthe_Edge

I would most definitely return to Jungles Edge and highly recommend this place as your #1 hospitality destination for Nosara, Costa Rica.

Comfortable rooms, great food at the restaurant, not far from the beach, incredible attention. We will definitely come back.

The rooms do not look nearly as good as the photos (wall discolored and frankly needed to be re painted) and my suite smelled of mold and mildew. My room (Lotus 8) flooded during a rainstorm and I almost lost my computer and cell phone. The owner put on a warm smile when I first arrived but soon became very inhospitable to the point I could not enjoy my vacation He insulted my mother when he asked to taste some of her cooking saying her spaghettini tasted like "Limp *****". He is a very rude man and is not the kind of person I wanted to be dealing with while on vacation. What I found most disturbing was his rude language. He was telling me how a guest rented a bike that fell a part on him during his way to the beach and he was going to make him pay $1000 for it. The owner then told me that the guest was a "homosexual and probably sucks **** and so he will then write a bad review now". This kind of language is sickening. All in all this hotel isn't worth the price or the trouble. Its a dusty 25 minute walk to the beach and there are often stray dogs in the walk way to the hotel at night time making it unsafe for children.

DON"T DO IT! Management change has left this place in shambles. First off, I have never before written a negative review, but I only gave this place one star because I had to to rate it. . I usually subscribe to the "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything" school of thought. However, I feel it is my duty to communicate my experience here. I booked here because of the many positive reviews, which were from during the time both partners were residing here. My first mistake was getting an all inclusive here. DON"T DO IT. The kitchen wasn't always open and I did not get many of my meals. Also the website misrepresents how close it is to the ocean. It is more like a 25 minute walk to the closest beach and further to the best beach for swimming. That made coming back for lunch impossible, so I paid for all of those meals and I never received them. Now on to the narrative. To lay the framework, one of the owners no longer resides here. The remaining owner, Dave, has no concept of the hospitality industry and the resort basically exists as a backdrop for his midlife crisis.

The morning I arrived, I was treated to listening to Dave and his buddy's CONSERVATIVE POLITICAL RANT. After 45 minutes of this pleasure,I was finally taken to a room. After unpacking all of my things, I discovered that the key to the room lock was bent. They were unable to locate another key so I had to move rooms. There was no offer to help me move, despite the fact that I had completely unpacked. So I schlepped all of my things to another room. After completely moving in to a second room I discovered that the toilet had feces smeared all over the inside of it. I had to ask 3 times to get the toilet cleaned. Then my problems with the owner Dave really began. I let him know that had happened but was in no way angry. I had a bicycle rental for 7 days. While I was out on the second day, the bicycle broke. I carried it all the way back and found Dave. I wanted to ride to a yoga class, but Dave would not allow me to have another bicycle until he "determined the cause of the breakage." He would not do it at that moment because he was going surfing. So despite the fact I had paid for a bike, I was unable to leave for the rest of that day. Additionally, Dave's demeanor was patronizing and condescending. I got a bicycle finally the next morning. The rest of the week was mediocre- my room was only cleaned once in the whole time I was there. When I could get it, the food was okay, but definitely not worth an all inclusive prices. The main problem is Dave, the owner. He has no sense of obligation around his guest's experience. He seems disinterested and the resort feels more like his personal party space for him and his buddies. NEVER AGAIN.

Loved this spot. Coming from New York City this place was the contrast I needed! A short walk to the beach & into town yet hidden in a jungle setting which keeps all senses alive. I would recommend 'Rosie's' for local rice & beans & surf lessons from Chris at 'SeaStars Surf'. All you need to bring is tequila, you can pick fresh lime in the gardens of Jungles Edge. Have fun!

The Jungles Edge is a very unique & amazing Place! Quiet, serene and exceptionally well kept! The grounds are colorful & the landscape is beautiful! Both owners Dave & Edie make you feel right at home. I have been there several times on different occasions for retreats and loved every minute there & I can't wait to get back! Ok, the pool is fantastic! Plus points for swimming in an infinity pool while parrots play in the jungle beside you and howler monkeys chill in the nearby trees.

The bar/restaurant/rental place was over priced. $75 for a paddle board rental for a day, you can get one in town for $30.

Cocktails were $9, there are lots of bars with cheap drinks and good happy hours.

As for the room. We stayed in a tiny shipping container with no windows, but good AC. It was easy to sleep in, because of the lack of light But pretty claustrophobic.
