  Stayed here for 8 nights in February 2017 for a birding trip. Ype and the couple who help are exceptional hosts. They made us feel welcome and made sure we had what we needed. Our mornings began very early and there was always fresh cut fruit in the fridge, eggs, bacon, bread, ham and butter. We also made ourselves a huge pot of coffee.
  
  There are 4 bedrooms. Two bedrooms share a bath. The other two have private baths. The two that share the bath are on the front side with a porch which has beautiful sunrise views. The private bath rooms are on the back and a large hallway runs between the two with hammocks. There is also a large porch on the end with seating. Nice places to read a book or just hang out with your binoculars. There was a lot of birds to see just sitting at the house.
  
  The rooms are large and fans were provided as there is no air conditioning. Usually a nice breeze, but it could get warmer in late afternoon. Sleeping wasn't a problem because it did get cooler. Had a couple plug ins so no problem charging stuff.
  
  No need to pack heavy because there is a washer and a dryer but we hung out stuff on the clothes line. You don't need any really dressy clothes because the atmosphere everywhere we went was very casual.
  
  It is dry season this time of year and everything is covered in dust. It didn't bother me but might be a concern if you're highly allergic. The inn is kept spotless, no dust here.
  
  Yep is a tender hearted soul and has 7 rescued dogs. They are all friendly and we'll behaved. We loved having them around but it should be something you know about . They are not allowed upstairs where the rooms are and there is a gate at the top of the stairs.
  
  Getting anywhere in the area is an adventure. Most roads are dirt and not in top condition, quite bumpy. There is a grocery store in Cobana and if you want to buy groceries and cook for yourselves that's an option. Restaraunts are in all towns, Montezuma, Cobano, Cabuya, etc but getting there is the problem. We had a rented Toyota 4 wheel drive and busted a tire on it. There were 6 9f us, so if you rent a car, make it a smaller one of you can. The preferred mode of transportation by locals is 4 wheelers.
  
  I could go on but just want to say the inn is fantastic. Don't expect a resort, but it is a beautiful place and grounds. The pool is awesome. The staff cleared off the trails out back, which are very steep but we got to see a spectacles owl thanks to them.
  
  I would definitelyy recommend for a true Costa Rica experience and would love to come back some day.

  Stayed here in 2014. Accommodations are great. This is beautiful spot and with the security wall felt plenty safe. Only thing is there are cameras in all the common areas so the owner can watch what's going on. Wish we would have known prior so it didn't seem weird. Might not have been so casual had known. Great place and owner helped with directions and planning activities. This is a pet rescue spot also so plenty of dogs and dog poo you have to watch out for.

  a bit grumpy, but the place is nice, the garden stunning and the surrounding of Montezuma and Las Delicias breathtaking. Greetings

  Jodokus inn is an awesome house, the pictures really don't do it justice. It is large, open and melds indoor and outdoor very nicely. The grounds are gated and very safe. Our room had a great shower with solar hot water (works really well). The room was fine but really you have access to most of the house, porches, patios, kitchen, trails gardens, it is very nice.
  When we arrived there were howler monkeys in the trees, not in the distance, right in front of us. We could hear them every morning and evening.
  Ype is a great guy, he knows a lot about the area and speaks several languages. We found him a great host and an interesting person to talk with.
  If you are going to the Montezuma area this is the place to stay. It is very quiet and peaceful yet only a 5 min drive to the Montezuma restaurants and beach.

  Jodokus Inn is an animal friendly guesthouse tucked away in the hills on 3 km from Montezuma,beaches. Overlooking the coastline and a Jungle/park in the back with natural pool in summer season and Waterfall in the rainy season with the owners/staff living on groundfloor.and on the secondfloor you can rent 4 rooms(house) max for 12 people there are 5 doubles and 2 single bed.divided over those 4 rooms.Or just 1 or 2 rooms with your own fridge,and use of commercial kitchen fully equipedIt is very peaceful quiet and safe and the staff is very helpful in many ways The garden is nicely kept with lots of fruittrees waiting to be tried by you. Tropical birds and wildlive all around perfect place to relax of the hurries in our daily lives
