This was our very first destination on our trip to Costa Rica. The staff and guests at the hotel were very friendly and the accommodations for the price were pretty reasonable. The hostel was quiet, had a nice and well-maintained pool, access to a shared kitchen and is well situated just off the main strip of Santa Teresa. There was a little bit of construction on a nearby property when we were there (April 11-13) so we did end up hearing that early in the morning. There were also plenty of howler monkeys around the property (which was really cool) but those guys do get pretty loud! Overall, we were super happy with our experience here!

We stayed at Cuesta Arriba for three nights and it was perfect. Our room was very spacious with lockers inside, the common area/kitchen was nice and open, the pool was a welcome reprieve from the afternoon heat, and the beach was barely a two minute walk. The staff were very helpful with setting up surf lessons and provided us with rash guards as well. The building itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious. The bathrooms were clean but showers were a bit cold, though pretty par for the course in Costa Rica. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Cuesta Arriba.

Great location and a very helpful and energetic receptionist. It's located right across Santa Teresa Beach, a close by groceries store and nearby the best Soda we've had in Costa Rica (Soda Tiquicia). The downside was that it was pricey for low season, the AC hits you in the head when you sleep (you can get a fan room instead) and the toilet would often smell of sewage.

Un buen lugar donde pasar las vacaciones. Dentro de que Costa Rica no me gustó nada, éste es un rinconcito donde aún pude disfrutar de mis vacaciones. Una playa preciosa enfrente del Hotel y maravillosos amaneceres. Si vas a esa zona a surfear, para mi fué el lugar perfecto donde alojarme.
