We have been staying in Playas Del Coco for the past 2 weeks and have come to Java 12 out of the 14 days. Couple reasons:
1. Prices are extremely reasonable
2. Food quality is top noche for a hole in the wall cafe, their waffles are to die for.
3. English is pretty good, easy to communicate in a foreign country if your Spanish isn't polished.
4. Drinks (smoothies and coffees) are delicious and generously portioned
5. The employees are Costa Rican ladies that work hard but also have lots of fun working at the cafe. They're always joking, laughing, singing to the radio, it's a great atmosphere to be around.
6. Although no pastries, I believe their choices are much healthier and offer bagels, salads, fruit plates, etc. Helps maintain a healthy lifestyle.

This place is definitely the best place in Coco for breakfast and coffee. If you're in Coco you need to come for breakfast or coffee at some point.

Ok coffee. Milk was too hot in the latte. Not much in terms of pastries. Nice little place though. Friendly service.

Amazing atmosphere! I would definitely recommend the Vanilla Sky iced coffee, but minus the espresso. It's a really cute place perfect for lunch!
