A gem in this world, I am so grateful this place exists. It is a paradise on this Earth. It is my 4th time here, and I really don't think you will regret coming here. Everything you want is here: Beach, jungle, monkey, macaws, amazing good, friendly staff and owners, shaded swimming pool, cozy reading nooks, hammocks, beautiful yoga decks, great landscaping

The Iguana was just what we were looking for in an authentic eco-lodge experience. This was the ultimate in sun and splendor in the gorgeous jungle and gentle beachfront of the rugged Osa Peninsula. The food was outstanding. The hospitality and service were first rate. Best of all, there were no "surprises".

Such an amazing spot. We came here for our honeymoon and they were so accommodating. Incredible views from the room and plenty of stuff to do around the resort. Loved the artwork too, thanks so much!

Only went for drinks and food but the service was off. Got the orders wrong, came out late and the food wasn’t great. Beautiful location and i’m sure it’s a great place to stay but unfortunately today was an off day.

We came to visit the beach, parked here, then enjoyed an amazing lunch. My husband got Mahi Empanada, my sons got hamburger and chicken fingers, I enjoyed the Mahi VeraCruz. The waitress even made me a shake with pineapple and banana without adding any sugar (at my request) and it was so fresh and delightful.
The lodge had several places to sit or lounge while enjoying the view of the gorgeous water.response / report this review -

Well I have to say that after initial surprise of being in a jungle beach hotel, this place could not have been more terrific! The staff is great, you really feel like you are hanging with friends. Amazing location where you can hear and see different birds and monkeys. (Even a sloth). The pool is perfect with a nice hot tub attached. There is a yoga studio, risen in the air with a spa attached. Traci is the massage therapist who is extremely talented and her style is not to be missed. Make appt asap since she books quickly. Also dinner is 5 star quality and hosted by Toby who is the owner.
The guys at the bar are really cool and treat you like friends not guests. 🍹Drinks are good as well 😎👍🏻
Just note: there is no AC and you are in a jungle so bring bug spray. The roads are gravel and not in great shape, other than that, Toby; I thank you and staff for letting us be part of this experience. 😀👍🏻
Also: you MUST take the Chocalate tour. It's not what you think and a 100 times better.response / report this review -

I have been to the Iguana twice and I cannot wait to go back. If you LOVE NATURE good people, fresh food and healthy fun THIS IS THE PLACE for you.
If you're the type that likes a DJ at the pool and swim up bar service THIS IS NOT the place for you. The accommodations (casitas) take a little leap of faith if you're a city girl not used to hearing nature right outside your door while you sleep, but within a day or two the sounds relax you and lull you to sleep.
Lauren and Tobey are awesome hosts who make you feel like family. The team of locals they work with (take any tour with Sid, he's the BEST!!) make you feel so welcome and at home. Spike, the house dog will keep a good eye on you tooCatherine will help you make all of your travel arrangements and Tracy will give you the best massage evershe's also a great surfing buddy!
Go on some adventures, try surfing with the locals and do the Corcovado hikeit's life changing!!

The "club room" in this pricey eco lodge, in which we stayed for 3 nights, was the most annoying experience. The room was stuffy; the ceiling fan does little to alleviate the heat and humidity. The rooms are built above a bar-restaurant (a fact that is not readily apparent from the website description), which means cooking smells all day and loud drunken conversation into the night (had to complain to the front desk every night). The beach onto which this lodge opens is nice, but the sand flies are a serious nuisance. The staff can help you choose an activity from a set list (guided hikes, etc.), but the women at the front desk don't seem to know anything about the local trails or do-it-yourself options.

I love the iguana lodge. We had an amazing family reunion with 17 people. Perfect accommodations. The staff is very friendly. Not only providing great service, but giving good advice on the various excursions. I was particularly impressed with their ability to arrange transportation with little to no waiting times. The breakfast and dinners were exception as well. Dinner is served family style with great food and plentiful portions. I really love these people and this place. I can't wait to get back their!
