Nice place very welcoming and hospitable
A little on the expansive side for what it is I was told afterwards from fellow travelers met on the trip. It’s very basic and internet was working on and off. So for 60$/night you can try to search a bit more if you have time. You might not find a place as friendly though.
Can’t give this 5 stars because the place is not the ritz, but this cute kitschy little place was an oasis for us. Beautiful old school hotel made me think 50’s or 60’s Miami. The staff is wonderful, especially Lis, the owner. Haven’t hugged the owner on the way out of a hotel in a long time. Fell in love with the cats and all the birds, and loved spending the early mornings and late evening on the patio. Breakfast was delicious and filling, the air in the room chilling, and the whole experience, fulfilling.
Great Hotel with character. Lis, the owner and operator is a wonderful host, warm and inviting. She always asked about my day. The breakfast is typico Cosado and a good portion to start the day and not be too filling to slow you down. Lots of fresh fruit and my favorite, fried Plantanos. The rooms are large, hot water is a plus, and the AC blows as cold as you want it to. I enjoyed my double occupancy and private bathroom. I will come back here again as it is very close to Coco Beach and Father Roosters restaurant on playa Ocotal was amazing and a wonderful find. ***Also if you don't have 4x4 do not take the monkey train from playa flamingo, ¡cuidado! Routa 911 reveals itself in it's name. Not recommended even in the dry season unless you have a newer pickup or sub with 4x4.***
Beds are terrible and the standard of cleanliness is lacking. Did not feel safe.
You can tell that this place was amazing in it's daybut it now feels very dated. The room wasn't very clean and the bed made a lot of noise. Internet wasn't great. They charged me significantly more than what I had reserved it for online. Breakfast was good, but they didn't tell me that I was going to have to pay for it. The people are nice, though.
Did not have a great experience. Upon arrival found the bathroom toilet topped with dirt. Seems like someone in the staff simply put the origami toilet paper around the toilet to make it appear nice. There were no towels in the room but the owner or staff brought some to the room. The towels were still dirty after we told her the first batch were dirty. The hotel pool was dirty. Everything appeared outdated. Their were ants everywhere. And you can hear dog howling loudly outside the window. The staff was kind.
Simple, nice, and a great cost. It was extremely close to everything we wanted to do in Ocotal like scuba diving and snorkeling as well as Father Rooster's.
It is no frills, but you can't expect a lot of them at that price point.
We made some wonderful friends there and it was a great stop during our trip.
Vary nice place! People from reception are very nice!
A little far from restaurants and bars but you can take a taxi for 6 or 4 usd.
Liz, the owner was so great, she speaks english little bit, but really friendly, kind person.
The ocotal beach is 5 minutes walk from this hotel. We saw the sunset between the island and the mountain, so great. Then get some beer and dinner at the Father Rooster. The room is little bit dated, the villa is beautiful, though.
I stayed here for 2 weeks in the honeymoon suite. It was great. Would love to return!
