Pleasant, beautiful, great service and healthy food. Nice trails in the woods. Quiet and peaceful. A great place to have a base camp around lake Arenal.

A friend of mine and I booked Mystica randomly, while looking for a place near Tico Wind (excellent Kite Surfing to be had there on the lake), and it was a superb stroke of luck.
I can't rate Mystica highly enough, Francesco, Lorri and Barbara are lovely hosts, the rooms are fantastic and the grounds delightful.
As it's run by Italians, expect good quality food in the evening from the uncomplicated but classic menu, and say goodbye to any stress you brought with you :)

It's also a Yoga retreat, which gives it a particularly relaxed vibe, but even if you're not into that, it's a great place to stay, you can take it or leave it.

If you can, ask for the Jungle Rooms - a bit more expensive, but even if it's just for a night or two, it's a highly rewarding experience.

I also didn't want to leave, and would happily have stayed a month, if I had the time off work!

Booked for one night but was so good we stayed here for two weeks on our first visit to Costa Rica. A truly magical place with beautiful views of Lake Arenal and surrounding mountains, fabulous gardens, good food and a very tranquil vibe. Run by professional and friendly people who go the extra mile to make your visit memorable. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a peaceful place to stay and explore Guanacaste.
