Unpretentious place, rooms are OK - ours had a big fat cucaracha in it, but that was not the issue. The owner (?) that "welcomed" us was a rude French guy who seemed pissed we got there, barely gave us any direction or instructions, and even gave us the wrong password for the WiFi, and he also repeated it only once. We ended up having to ask the nice family next to our room.

The location and the amenities are just perfect! Better if you go on a family trip due to the relaxed ambience. Just a hint, don't give your good quality clothing to the laundry service, they are very generous with bleach ;)

Great hosts, great location. A wonderful, clean, safe small hotel in Santa Teresa. I’ve been here many times and always stay at Meli Melo. Walk everywhere, surf across the street, grocery and restaurants are minutes away. Great shared kitchen area.

I would say this hotel was by far the best deal we got within our three weeks of traveling in Costa Rica. We came here because it was recommended to us as a quite cheap place as we travel on a tight budget. I was really positively surprised as we got a really big room, with our own little terrasse and garden with hammock. As we had some bad experiences with insects (for example cockroaches) in other hotels it was a bliss in here: Everything was suuuper clean and everyday they came to maintain again. What I enjoyed the most though was the outdoor bathroom, beautifully decorated.
We used the beautiful and clean common kitchen every day.
The owners were also really helpful and even let us us their personal material to maintain our bikes we brought along.

Beautiful hotel. Stylish, clean and conveniently located 100m from the beach. Run by a charming French couple. Excellent surfing lessons available. Will definitely go back.
