Concierge lady stole money from us then denied it. Had proof she pocketed it and had to pay again. Tried to way overcharge us for local activities by literally 500% and the place is infested with ants. The free breakfast was a fruit plate with 3 chunks of pineapple and 1 triangle of watermelon and 2 pieces of toast. The coffee was good tho. Was over priced for the place and the experience. Will make sure everyone knows about this, almost feels like a scam. If we hadn't already prepaid for tonight, and weren't already leaving tomorrow I would rather find a new hotel with friendly staff and no thieves. Have NEVER been more disappointed.

Saw a sloth in a tree right outside..there are bicycle rentals. Found a lizard, a frog, and a worm in our room. But every close to awesome adventures

Nice hotel. $8 breakfast. Pool. Rooms make a lot of noises. Towel is continually running and mini fridge sounds like there is s quail in your room. 2 k walk from the center of town.

I visted Eco Arenal Hostal with a friend for 4 nights. The owners Nestor & Lily did all they could to make us feel at home and welcome. The hostal is very tidy, clean, comfortable and organised. They took us tubing down the river with the family, so much fun! The river is close by and is a beautiful place to go for a swim. They also have the best cake i have tasted in Colombiatheir restaurant caters for all needs and serves some delicious food. I cannot recommend their hostal highly enough :)

WiFi is pretty weak, but rooms are clean and fine. Not super fancy, about what you expect. Nice place.

The air in the rooms right after check in feels like sauna without any O2. Pool had no water yet. Rooms were spacious but very simple. Typical Costa Rican breakfast, but nothing special. It could be a nice hotel, but it wasn't for us.

Decent hotel with pretty basic rooms. There was nothing wrong with it but you also don't have anything special. Breakfast could have been better - just some scrambled eggs and toast and a tiny portion of fruit. Breakfast is served outside though, so you could see a lot of birds.
Staff was incredibly freindly though and helped out a lot.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Eco Arenal for a week at the end of August. The location of the hotel, the employees, the view of the volcano were all amazing. The room was very clean and the pool was awesome. Everyone was so nice and went out of their way to help us. We felt like we became friends with everyone we met! We plan on returning to this hotel in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Costa Rica.
