When I was there, it was clean and the stuff was friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable, but the they only have a bedsheet as a blanket so it gets really cold in the night and I had to put on jackets in order to sleep.

This is a big rowdy youthful hostel with lots of people coming through looking to party and have a good time. Some people are very friendly and want to meet new people so if you're traveling on your own and want to make friends this place is perfect. The internet is fast, and the hot water in the showers is super hot! Breakfast from 7:30-8:30 is included but very meager, and coffee or tea will cost you an extra $1. The restaurant/bar on the 3rd floor is pricy but good, and has an amazing view of the city and the mountains. The hostel has an enclosed garage with a night guard which is what sold us on the place because we have a vehicle. The part of town it's in is a bit run down and a little scary and reminded me of downtown LA, but it's close to a Chinese restaurant and ATM. Oh, and there is a pool which looked nice but we didn't go in because it was raining. I would've given the place 5 stars if it wasn't for the sad breakfast.

Rating it one star because of the attitude of the bartender/cook/whatever he was. Asked for a glass with ice and he said it's the rules not to give it out. After arguing for a while, he said he would give me ice but I had to find my own glass, I couldn't borrow one of the 20+ glasses behind the bar. Also, the kitchen is useless. Cooked dinner with barely any utensils and found mold on one of the plates.
Only two power points in a room with 7 young people. Also, unbelievably only 6 lockers when there's 7 beds.
Overall not a friendly vibe. And I completely agree with the other comments. They don't tell you about the free meals until you ask, and breakfast is only from 7:30-8:30.

Has the potential to be THE COOLEST hostel. Onsite pool and bar. Cool deco and nice everything. Have stayed many times and would stay again.

Some of the staff are friendly but most were not and not very unhelpful. Pool table was broken. The hostel was very empty and when asked if there were many other tourists here we were told there are alot which wasn't true. Also the rooms had no windows so they would get quite warm. The rooftop was a nice area and if there were more people could be a nice hangout area.

This is an extremely unique hostel! The interior of the hostel is completely painted with really cool art, and has cool arches in the hallways. Feels very safe and secure. Very close to the major bus station. The front desk workers speak great English

The hostel is pretty bad, it's built like a maze, the rooms are in poor condition, the windows are always open, the pool water looks disgusting, you can hear pretty much everything that happens in the hostel including couples having it out in another room, almost all the bed sheets are dirty. There is only one bathroom, it offers some privacy but it's not great. If you paid the minimum amount, just for staying one night, expect more people to arrive in your room, they will also mix girls and guys in the same bedroom.
The food varies, I only had breakfast twice there, on one day it was awful the other it was pretty decent.
The staff is bipolar, if you're lucky they'll treat you right and tell you at what times the meals are served, if you're not they won't tell you and if you arrive 5 minutes late they won't serve you.

The hostel itself is very clean and has good facilities. The food in the bar is very good. The problem is the area in which it is located. It's on the fringes of the red zone I San Jose. Its not safe in this area for tourists meaning leaving the hostel and returning after dark (after 6pm) can be quite risky. One of our group was mugged at knife point for their mobile phone just outside. Also, the brothel three doors down doesn't make for a pleasant neighbourhood feel. Its a shame because the hostel itself is fantastic.

If I could give it a zero I would. The services were terrible. The showers dont shut let alone lock. How do you expect people to wash in that environment. The toilets lacked toilet paper regularly and the bar staff were terrible. I waited 5 minutes at the bar for the bar tender to select a song for an empty bar before serving me. The free meals are not explained unless asked about purely because they don't want you to utilise this benefit. The meals themselves are tiny and disgusting. I've never gone anywhere and been satisfied with boiled rice and 2 corn chips. My friend had her shoes lost and rather than check the cameras or try and learn more about the situation they kicked her out on the street and called the police. I do not recommend staying here.

Worst hostel I have stayed in my life, no exaggeration. They staff is so rude, especially Arthur who refused to help us. Only care about money and nothing else. DO NOT STAY HERE! Not worth the the three free meals which they hide from you and is worse than prison food. I wish I read the reviews about how awful this place was before I booked.

Less than one star. Author is the worst person who try's to work there. Food is worse than edible. Drinks are expensive. The whole team is expensive for no reason they don't care. Staff are the worst I've ever had to deal with. Sooo rude and useless. Good luck with this hostel. It's beyond failing

Great trendy spot, rooftop bar, patio, pool tables, clean rooms, good price, located near local bars, and the downtown walking street.

Staff was helpful and the place seemed safe. Walls were not very soundproof though, luckily the other guests stick to the nice common areas and weren't too loud.

Bar and Restaurant have great ambience and good service. However the hostel accommodations are awful, not only does our dorm smell like disgusting b.o. But there are several mysterious stains and crumbs on our 'clean' bed sheets. Recommend for the bar with a great view but do not stay here.
