It's located far west of San Jose, took our bus about an hour to get to town on this weekday morning after 9. The hotel is pretty clean and the staff are nice. Room is typical. But there are some little things that aren't quite right, like the laminate floor has bad spots, the toilet doesn't flush right etc.

You know, really not bad, as Holiday Express goes. Nice pool. Good breakfast. Clean rooms. I'd go back there when the price is as good as what we got with our last visit (A one bedroom suite for $120) Good location next to shopping and restaurants. And they prided themselves on good customer service.

I loved this hotel was so accommodating for our meetings. Great lunch food was provided and good mid day snacks. I will stay here for a personal visit next time.

This place is a beautiful place to stay at and they have every amenity that you need.

Very conveniently located and there are plenty of restaurants there's even a fresh market across the road and you have Banks access to several different banks.

I loved this place. It is my first time in Costa Rica. I stayed several other places over the last 8 nights. Now I am here for 5 before going back to the states. This is a very nice hotel with a perfect mix of upscale shops and restaurants. I am comparing to regular downtown shops and restaurants in surrounding towns that I have visited and eaten at. Also in reading a negative post I will say this, I believe if this hotel makes a mistake they will take responsibility and fix it. If the mistake is yours do not put a bad rating.

Nothing special, your topical holiday inn. Breakfast was the same low quality food as in America but with local food. The front desk spoke pretty good English but no one else did.

I have been a IHG member for years and have stayed at many Holiday Inn's in my travels. I just cancelled my membership with IHG due to this hotels refusal to be in any way reasonable regarding an online booking mistake on my part. Please know that there are two Holiday Inn Express Hotels in the San Jose Costa Rica area. I had previously stayed at the Holiday Inn next to the airport and re-booked another stay on my phone thinking it was the same hotel. This hotel is approximately half an hour away from the airport hotel and upon my arrival at the airport hotel and after traveling across the country all day with three kids in the car, i realized my mistake. I told them i would be happy to pay the difference if there was one, the front desk at both hotels insisted that they would not in any way recognize the mistake and instead insisted that i pay for both rooms for the same night. I even talked with the main customer service folks and their approach was literally "tough luck". I have never experienced customer service as bad as I have experienced from IHG and these two Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Costa Rica and I never plan to stay in a Holiday Inn Express or related company hotel again.
