Very Modern hotel. Super Clean & very friendly patient staff who took the time to explain tours to us. There's a mall right across the street & loads of restaurants down the street as well. My husband has a canopy & white water rafting set up on Thursday. I wanted 2 do the hot springs but I don't want to do a whole day & hours drive away. Small pool bit their free breakfast is greatly appreciated. I would stay here again if we ever come back to San Jose.

Very chic hotel with a lot of great views of San Jose. The bar and restaurant had really good food, drinks, and service. There is also free laundry which was a very helpful service for our group as we had been on the road for quite some time. I would definitely come back here.

Nice clean, modern, and chic hotel. Location is pretty good since it's within walking distance to many restaurants and a shopping mall. Very friendly staff who are accommodating to English speakers. Would have rated higher except some wear in the room (bathroom door wouldn't quite close all the way).

I wish I did not have to give such a bad review because other than this one experience the hotel was OKAY. You cannot trust the employees they hire especially not the ones who clean your room. Myself and a friend of mine had over $200 in our safe and unfortunately we did not close it all the way and due to that it was not locked. We left the hotel and when we came back all of our money was gone. Needless to say we contacted the front desk immediately and informed them of this issue. The guest service manager and head of security came to our room to show us who entered the room and the safe activity. They then had us fill out a form stating what was taken. We asked what would happen after the interviews with the employees and they said we would get the money compensated. When we spoke to them 2 days later they pretty much said “there is nothing we can do for you sorry”. I understand that they were limited in what they could do BUT there was no sympathy/ compensation of any sort. You can’t trust leaving your room to be cleaned without items of yours being stolen.
Other than that hotel had a decent size pool. Not too big but nice. Continental breakfast every morning with delicious fruit and fresh fruit juices, eggs, rice and beans, cereal and much more. Good salads although most other items were a bit expensive. The room I was in did not have a dresser at all so our clothes were on shelves in the “bathroom”. Workout room was better than most hotels- treadmills, elliptical and a bike with a couple (3 in 1) machines, and free weights. Close to bus stop to San Jose although you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how the bus system works. Not much else in the area other than a couple restaurants.response / report this review -

Nice location, clean hotel, great room. Checked in after a long flight and wad greeted with a smiling face! Very helpful and informative when I asked questions. Great recommendations when looking die a place to eat outside of hotel restaurant. Although hotel restaurant had great food. Will stay here again next time I'm in Costa Rica!

Clean rooms, across the street from a mall and next to McDonald's. Check in and check out was fast. Rooms were clean. Bathroom was clean, shower is glass that can be seen from the bedroom. Free breakfast buffet was ok.

GREAT!!! I stayed here last week for 1 night before I traveled the country and LOVED it so much that I came back for a few more nights to relax. I dropped off my rental car near the SJO Airport yesterday and took a 25 minutes Uber to the hotel which was only $6. I am currently staying here now and have had no problems. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are extremely comfortable. You have to use your room key for the elevator which is a feature I like and makes me feel safe. The parking is free.. and the WIFIiand so is the breakfast I am currently eating..which is WONDERFUL! ROY has been very kind and has greeted me by name everyday! The rest of the staff have also been very kind! The hotel is located right across from the road from a huge shopping center with a lot of restaurants and a dine in movie theater.
Thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful stay! I will definitely stay here again in the future!response / report this review -

First time to be in Costa Rica few years ago and the first Aloft hotel I stayed at. I'm very happy with the room. I think 2-3 people would fit. Good food at the restaurant as well. Also I like the breakfast buffet and complimentary coffee. Even the in-room coffee pack. And free wifi in my room works very nicely.
Easy and fast to get to/from the airport. Transportation is also available at the two times I needed.response / report this review -

Terrible service! Our room on second floor had VERY strong MOLD smell and MUCUS on our bed side clock when we checked in Monday. Requested a room change but we're told they were booked full. (Online search showed rooms available though). We were told not to worry and that everything would be fine after the room was cleaned the next day. We did not return to our room until Wednesday and at this point the smell was worse in our room. Once again we were told there are no other rooms available (LIES) and that the manager would come to our room with an air purifier. Instead a maintenance employee brought us an air humidifier. Upon investigation, the purifier tank was filled with MOLD! Our reservations were for 3 more nights but we will NEVER use aloft again. BEWARE OF MOLD ON SECOND FLOOR OF ALOFT AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Here tonight with a group of 11 with 6 rooms. 3 of the 6 were wrong as 2 beds in each were booked but gave king beds only. They were not willing to fix the issues. We also ate dinner in the restaurant. 2 of the 11 got the wrong food and all 5 steaks were miscooked. We spent 2.5 hours at dinner, this did not include drinks or appetizers. There were no apologies. For a $24 meal I really expected better service and the steak to be cooked correctly. Horrible customer service.

Beautiful grounds, super convenient location and stunning views. The McDonald's across the parking lot is quite tasty and there's a grocery store and mall within a short walking distance. About a 20 minute drive to/from the airport Santamaria.

One of the most reasonably priced places for a good hotel. Has a very upbeat and swanky look. The rooms are clean , spacious. The breakfast buffet has a great choice, the lounging are has a pool table and they even have a live band on some days with dance music. Bang opposite the mall with good restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. ..what's not to like about it. The only downside is the road traffic if you are facing the local road. ..ask for a room on the other side.
