Great hotel, really love this place. The rooms are well furnished and large. Stayed in the midsummer night dream suite, so amazing! The service is great and the breakfast is freshly made. One issue is that sometimes the night staff don't know how to speak English but they still try to help. Overall the best hotel in Bogota and will secondly stay here again.

Very nice and unique hotel at a great central location with a friendly and homey service. Big individually styled palace like rooms. There's only 7 rooms in the hotel.
However it lacks in a couple of departments. Some of the staff don't speak English, and at times the whole staff present can be the non English speaking, meaning it's very hard to get information or make requests. And during our stay I don't know what, but it seemed like someone smoked inside the building (was allowed to), and the staff didn't seem to do anything about this. The whole second floor corridor was filled with cigarette smoke smell and it reeked into our room, giving us both headaches, as we seriously can't stand living in cigarette smoke smell. When I called the front desk, there was the language barrier again. For this I have to take off 2 stars - I can't be expected to put up with this in a 5 star hotel.response / report this review -

The Orchids quickly became one of the best places I've ever stayed. The interior of the building really is gorgeous - decorated in a sumptuous way and filled with character, our room (A Midsummer Nights Dream) was amazing. High ceilings, four poster bed, soaking tub, it had everything you could have wanted. To finish the experience the staff were delightful; they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and looked after, and the made-to-order breakfast couldn't have been better. It was a faultless stay and I would thoroughly recommend visiting the hotel if you're staying in the city - don't bother with a faceless chain hotel, treat yourself to something special and you won't regret it.
