There is only one question I came away thinking from my visit to Marea and that is why on earth does it not have a Michelin star?
I have laughed a lot reading some of the other recent reviews, the service is faultless, the food is exquisite and the setting is wonderful.
The wine list is impressive considering the fact if you try to buy wine anywhere else in Cartagena you get served what can only be described as piss.
The starters were in touch with the local produce yet used some more European styles of cooking.
The lionfish main was wonderful, I was dining with my friend who is a marine biologist and she was explaining the importance of eating lionfish in Colombia due to it being an invasive species not naturally occurring on the local reefs. Therefore once again fantastic to see somewhere first class acknowledging the local environment.
Food was adequate, atmosphere was nice, though the loud party boats created some odd moments. Service was relatively terrible. They appeared to be understaffed, which led to us pouring our own water and wine, never being asked about refills, and no acknowledgement or apology.
Went for New year's Eve. Fabulous food (they had to do special veggie meal), nice view. Ambience lacking. But it was NYE and the staff was mostly very good.
Very good restaurant in Cartagena, great view and great atmosphere. A bit noisy due to some party boats though. The starters are great, main dishes are very good and very good deserts as well. It is a perfect place for an special dinner in the great Cartagena.
Absolutely wonderful. We had the tasting menu and some others ordered a'la carte. The gazpacho on the tasting menu was a bold choice and they carried it off very well. Probably the best deconstructed gazpacho I've ever had. Each dish was excellent. Attentive service, great wine selection and superb food. And the location is right on the water. Well worth it.
Very good but recommend Club de Pesca over this restaurant.
Excelente comida y servicio. Recomendado el arroz caldoso
The views are very nice from this restaurant. The food was good and the wine was even better.
This is the best restaurant in Cartagena. It's a high end dining place but not so costly for a Brazilian, American or European.
Exceptionally located, great starter. fear dish; ousome desert. . over rated $$ , but I will come back! ! ! Thanks
The ambiance here is excellent, as is the food. The whole restaurant feels like a high end waterfront experience. Marea is my second restaurant by Rausch and both have been excellent.
Great view and the food is excellent
Amazing food and great views in the same place. The marea dessert is a great way to finished the night and try different options of desserts that they have. The coffee surprise was my favorite.
Cozy place food was good u gotta try it
Bad experience! Plates too late and worth customer service!
Here for convention, came here for lunch as it's very convenient. Had Octopus Carpacio with olives for appetizer and Lion Fish for main course. It was very good. More pricier then local restaurants but worth the price
