This hotel sucks. Do not stay here. Broken fixtures, stains, broken doors. The 10th floor infinity pool has glass on the end, so should probably be called infinity-like. Overpriced. Bottled water is not included even though you probably can’t drink tap water.
My fiancee and I went to buy coffee at the Juan Valdez inside the hotel today. We were rejected by security and not permitted to enter. We were told that "there were too many people in the hotel." Even though we had gone in and bought one the day prior and we told them that all we wanted to do was get a coffee and get out. We weren't staying at the hotel but regardless its not the kind of service you'd expect from a 5 star hotel.
How upsetting, drove 30 minutes to the hotel and was turned away from getting a day pass because they were over booked. The security guards made no effort to help accommodate us. By the way this was at 930 am and the beach was empty.
Overall it's a beautiful Hotel. Great pools. Close to the beach and they are not as crowded as other touristic areas. Rooms are nice. Bathroom was a bit outdated but what bothered me was the fact that it was dirty. Dirt and hair on the floor and bathroom had chunks of old soap on the tiles found in the shower. We informed the front desk and they were quick to resolve the problem. So I would say guest service was great as well. There was always someone willing to help or assist us with anything we needed. I would go back.
The new building is very modern, the rooftop bar has a great vibe. The older portion is very dated given how exclusive and expensive it is. But still one of the best options for a resort style feel in cartegena.
I love all the prople, the four testaurants, the swimming pools, the beach, the sport courts and the bedrooms.
Excellent hotel to stay with family
The Hotel is well located only a short 10 minute drive to Old City ($5 by taxi) and remote enough to be away from mayhem.
The beaches are probably best in Cartagena, but if you go to beach, be ready to be hassled by locals selling their wares! But the are friendly and security is nearby.
WiFi is great one day and good the next. Having to constantly login to WiFi with devices is painful and unnecessary being such a remote hotel.
The food is fantastic, but could do with a little more variety.
If you stay in one of the two hotels, you can use facilities of both which is great.
The Playa Hotel is better I think, a lot more variety for families with kids with a great pool and slide.
The rooms are comfortable and nice and the staff are fantastic!
The only two things to improve are variety of food and fix the silly constant logins for WiFi
Wonderful!!!! We felt we were in paradise. Staff is warm and always offering assistance. Our room was always immaculate clean, our bed was soft and always felt fresh. We will be back for sure!!!! We already miss Lorenzo the friendly bird!!!
Awesome wedding venue
I would not recommend this hotel. The beaches in front of it are not very nice and they are also full of annoying vendors who might also steal things. The water is dangerous because it's dirty and there are many kite-surfers. One of them almost had a crash with my friend when she went for a short swim. The entrance of the hotel is a huge construction site, so be ready for a lot of noise at day and probably night. The staff is very unfriendly and unprofessional - i wonder why such a pricy hotel wouldn't invest in some training.
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, go to Radisson Blu!
Good hotel but not impressed with the hotel trying to stick me in a room with no balcony and then trying to say i had no breakfast included when Expedia email said clearly all those things. Then on top of all that they claim the room are 65sq m when they are not even 35sq m. They include a useless space of balcony in that and still not 65sq m. I build homes so I know 1ftx 2ft tiles on the floor make it easy to calculate it nice try but come on tell the truth and ppl will be happy. Don't try to sugar coat things please. The culprit and most the headache were caused by the "manager" Luis Antonio. Stay away from him if possible. Quite the liar
Great hotel, great WiFi, ok food. REALLY Close to AIRPORT!
Had an awesome experience, went to visit for first time Cartagena and the staff at the hotel was amazing especially one of the porters Luis Fernando, he was very attentive, making sure me and my best friend were feeling safe, there is also another guy his name i think it's Brian? He works at the beach area, very nice and pleasant. Thank you all for the good experience. The accomodations are excellent, the ocean view amazing, the infinite pool great, all restaurants are fine, excellent food.
Was there from july 30th to august 7 th. I will do it all over again 😍😍
