I arrived on a Thursday evening in this Hostel and my plan was to stay there just for the weekend. One month later I am still in Medellin. For me I never found a Hostel like this. Most important part for me, at the end I had somewhere else my own apartment. But I was everyday welcome at Happy Buddha. I stay here everyday, meet people, make jokes with the Employees and have so much fun the best jokes are with Karen! The Party’s are amazing! There is a lot to do and everyone always helps you if you need some informations!
Not a bad hostel but nor a great one. The dorms down stairs are small and our room didn't get a fan until 3 days later. our room window was also right next the reception for another hostel and on top of very loud music from the street keeping you up at night. However the bar is nice, the pool table is small but quick and fun, the staff are always helpful and the location is great.
Happy Budda is a party hostel. I stayed here for 5 nights. Great staff! Great location! Fun hostel with table tennis, a pool table, a bar, and some activities like a pub crawl on Wednesdays. The only issue I had was the lack of cleanliness. As far as I could tell there's one women doing all the cleaning, she was also helping cook and serve breakfast, and not enough hours in the day (she also seemed to be there all hours of the day and always with a smile). I would highly recommend staying at the Happy Budda Boutique Hostel.
I think everybody know this hostel if their pass ever crossed the city of Medellin. We stayed there for 4 nights and the fame of party hostel is a veritable truth. You'll never feel bored in this hostel, it's always full of cool people and party keeps on 24/7. We had a really good time there.
But be careful, if you can avoid the 2 room on the last floor near the terrasse. You won't be able to sleep every night from 7 p.m. to like 8 a.m.
Nice backpacker hostel. The party scene can get a bit wild so you might not get much sleep
This is a party hostel, so you should know that going in. It's in Poblado, which is the best area in Medellin, which is safe and has great restaurants and bars within walking distance. There's a nice bar upstairs which looks out over the street. Other travelers/hostels hang out at the bar here, and events like a pub crawl start here as well. Not the best place to rest and relax, but a good place to meet fellow travelers.
Really cool Hostel! We stayed in AirBnB but checking this place out it would definitely be an option next time!
Super cool party hostel! Their bar is like meeting point for travelers. Only problem is you won't be able to sleep when you need.
A real party place for 20 yr Olds. Bar upstairs.. can be rowdy. But private rooms are nice and good value. With safes. Costs extra for visitors. Location is pretty good
It's ok. Overhyped though as everyone there is a mess, no real dancing and pricier beer for the area. It's really loud really late too. Unless you're needing 4am parties everyday, there's better options.
Great place to hang out for backpackers even if you are not staying in the hostel. The bar area is great.
Amazing party hostel. Super good deals in the bar. Everyone from every hostel in Poblado comes to hang out there. They have nightly events. Salsa lessons on Tuesdays are really cool. Mojitos are bomb. Private rooms are really cozy. Good place to meet other people and have fun!
Learned to salsa and had the BEST yoga in my life!
The receptionist told me to hang tight. Sur enough, Happy Buddha brought it all together in one vacation. My girlfriend is still pulling my hair out from paragliding ;) !!! And shooting paintball at Pablo Escobar’s? You get access to a wide range of things to do in Medellin. Don forget the free walking tour.
A North American colony. I stopped at the entrance and gave up my reservation because of the vibe. I didn't like it.
Great rooms, very clean, and good people. The breakfast is ok
Stayed here for 7 days for a reason - easily the best hostel in the are. Party hostel with super friendly staff. Rooms are well kept and the bar is pumping (everyone from other hostels gravitate towards the Happy Buddha Bar). No issue with noise in the rooms at night. Highly recommended if you want a good time.
Most unfriendly reception desk expeirence I had in Latam so far. Had an activity booked, arrived there half an hour before tour start, the receptionist tells me to wait outside and. 30 min later I go back to ask him what is going on and all he says is "the bus just left!" .. didn't care at all about my situation.. which was caused by him giving me wrong information.. hostel manager Sandra didn't bother either.. As this was our last activity before catching a flight later on, the day was kind of ruined and left an unnecessary bad mark on my otherwise really great Medellin experience. Very unreliable hence Can't recommend this place at all..
Ohhhh Happy Buddha, what to say about you after my 11-day stay?! (don't ask) Shoutout to the ENTIRE staff, because I
