Awesome organisation! We did the 4 day Ciudad Perdida track - we were pretty lucky with the weather. Our guide Dennis, and translator Julian, were simply wonderful! Fernando and Diego, our chef, were also lovely. We highly recommend Expotur - very professional organisation. Make sure to pack light, just expect your clothes to become wet/ dirty/ smelly, bring earplugs for during the night if you're a ''light sleeper'' (we had no issues though - some snoring is not that nice, but the sounds of nature are great during the night) and embrace the beautiful nature around you :).

I highly recommend Expotur for a hike to La Ciudad Perdida! We did the 4 days hike and everything was very well organized: food, beds and we had two guides, a cook and a translator for a group of 12 people. Amazing experience!

Had an amazing time with this tour guide! We had a group of 12 people and additional a guide and a translator. They helped us with everything! We were a bit scared about the food and water because we red some stories about people getting sick. We tackled that by eating vegetarian and only buy bottles of water, instead of drinking the purified water. But I guess it depends per person how your stomach reacts. Most of the people ate meat in our group and drank the purified water and most of them were fine. Two had little stomach problems but they already had that before starting the tour, and one had a bit of fever. But I doubt it had anything to do with the food or water. The whole tour to Ciudad Perdida ask a lot from your body. For some off course it is easier then for others but it is important for everyone to stay hydrated, eat well and rest. The food was good and enough, and the snacks you get in between too. There is quite some fruit and sugar in the small breaks to keep you going. Like many people probably already have said, your clothes get wet from sweat and/or rain and it is difficult to get them dry. I often hung something on my daypack to let it dry in the sun during walking. All camps have showers and toilets, but not always toilet seats and paper. Enjoy your trip!

I did the Lost City tour and had a truly amazing time. There were 10 people in my group and we became good friends over the trip. Our group was mostly people in their 20s and 30s. We had a fairly strenuous pace since everyone in the group wanted to walk quickly. I appreciated this. If someone had wanted to walk more slowly then the group would have adjusted to that pace. I'm not sure how accurate it is but I've been told that this tour company tends to draw a younger more athletic crowd than some of the other companies. There was lots of very good food all along the trip!

AMAZING experience to go to Ciudad Perdida with Expotour!! Booking was super easy, I was picked up directly from my hostel and could leave my big luggage at the office for free. Our guide Joel was such a sweetheart, you could see his big heart when looking into his face and he knew so many things. The translator Julian was also amazing and with these two we had the best time. The trip itself was so adventurous and I enjoyed every second of it. Definitely the highlight of my Colombia trip!!

We had an amazing trip to the lost city with Gabriel and Fernando. They're relaxed, funny, provided lots of very interesting insights into how the locals live and the history of the lost city and accommodating of the needs of different people in the group. I would very much fully recommend!!!!!!

We did the trek in July '17 with ExpoTur, for 850k COP. We originally planned Todo the 5days but ended up doing the 4days as the last day on 5days is really short. You can also take a Moto taxi down the last part for 25k COP if you don't feel fit enough.
Our guide (Gabriel) was not really interested in the group and only gave info about the lost city on day3. There would have been interesting animals and plants along the path but without the guide telling you you might miss it. The guide was not really leading the group as he was sometimes 1hour behind the group talking to some other guys he knew. On the other side the translator (Heberth) was helpful and motivating us Todo the sometimes hard trek. (Mainly because of deep slippery mud). The accommodation was good and food was tasty. I personally did not drink any of the offered drinks as we've seen them preparing the juice including half tap water.
If it rains much (is well possible as this is a jungle area) the paths get really muddy as they do not maintain the paths and the mules walk on the same path. We would not recommend this trek as long as the paths are like this (maybe it's better in the dryer season).
ExpoTur is okay but we had bad luck with our guide.

Doing the Lost City Trek was a great experience even in the rainy season. The scenery and experiences you get are unique.

The guides and staff were kind and very helpful. Communication with the office was also smooth.

There was something however that is hard to understand and I found it rather alarming:

Expotur has large groups - When I went it was roughly 10+10 people. Moreover, different companies seem to share the same accommodation and food (with some exceptions). That brought the number of guests roughly to 30-35. Now add 10-15 of support staff and guides. We are talking about around 50 to be fed!

Cooking thus done in mass production and the serving time is the same for all groups. If you go notice that at the peak time of lunch/dinner you may have around 10+ people in the kitchen doing various jobs including preparing food and salad. Obviously, if 10+ people are handing the food the notion of the cook is lost.

My impression was that in the kitchen "anything goes". Several people got a stomach ache the last day from the pasta and chicken. Also, a young man served me coffee in a dirty cup because he couldn't find a washed one. I understand that during camping such events can happen, but the way I experienced it was a systematic lack of roles in the kitchen something which is a disaster waiting to happen and in fact, it did happen.

Office staff were helpful to people that felt uncomfortable by offering doctor service (health cover included).

We did the Ciudad Perdida trek - one of the best treks I have ever done through the most stunning jungle scenery! The staff at Expotur are helpful and accommodating. Our guide, Jorge was perfect - he was friendly, knowledgeable and highly professional under unexpected circumstances. The food and accommodation provided is basic but pretty good quality given the remoteness of where you stay. Expotur provided an excellent service.

I would strongly recommend the Ciudad Perdida tour to anyone. It is important to be in reasonable shape, but by no means a fitness fanatic as log as you go at your own pace.

We did the 4 days tour to List City and was one of the best experiences in south america. The walk is not too challenging, if you are well trained, per se but the heat and humidity are, just take your time. It was really rewarding to jump in the river in the evening after long trekking hours. Our guides were great and gave us a lot of info on the indigenous population and the Lost City could be nice to have seen more animals. Be aware the accommodations are really basic and toilets as well but there are always showers.

We did the 4-days trekking tour to the Ciudad Perdida. It's absolutely an experience I would recommend, especially with Expotour and the giudes Rafa and Matias.
The tour is not difficult if you are fairly prepared to trekking, but it's worth doing: the landscapes are stunning, and you feel like part of the surrounding nature.

Reputable and upstanding agency with whom to do the trek to the Ciudad Perdida. We had a great guide and translator who both really cared about our experience and well being. We were always well fed and the shared facilities along the way were better than expected. The price was reasonable, but same as the other places in town. Would definitely recommend.
