This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First off apparently you pay by person not by room which meant that for my party of 3 we had to pay an extra $230 for one person for 4 nights. On top of this the 'food' and service at the free buffet in the morning was absolutely horrendous. I frequently found egg shells and hair in my eggs the juice was about as bland as it could be and finally service was unbearable. The elevators are slow and never work the beach is crowded and full of street venders. I could go on and on about how bad this hotel is. Four stars!? What a joke!!!!

The Hotel Cartagena Plaza is truly excellent, right up there with the Ritz Carlton. I had booked a room with double beds for our party of 3, but once we arrived the receptionist informed me that I had to pay per person not per room. How smart, why hasn't anyone though of this before? I begged the receptionist to empty out my 401k for this mistake but they only charged me an extra 225$, bummer!

Don't even get me started on the amenities, a free bottle of off brand water and unlimited mints at the front desk is just the beginning. This place has everything!

First off in the room it's clear they're trying to reach out to millennials by reminding them what it was like when they first used the internet. The Wi-Fi is slow and cuts out periodically, it's honestly a thoughtful jesture. I wish they would add some dial up tones or provide an Ethernet cord for greater affect.

Besides the amazing internet the room also doubles as a spa! The shower is very theraputic cycling from freezing cold to blazing hot automatically. No need to visit the sauna because the airconditioner keeps the room hot and humid no matter the temperature setting. It's the little things that make the experience great.

The staff at the hotel are clearly very health conscious since the elevators are extremely slow and beach towels are only dispensed on the 18th floor. It's great! Why spend the day walking around the city when you can get your steps in at the hotel?

Speaking of towels the beach club at the hotel is very exclusive, so much so they don't even have enough chairs for their own guests. Once you do find a place to sit the swarm of budding entrepreneurs trying to sell you trinkets guarentees you'll feel like a Hollywood star!

I also love what the hotel has done with the buffet, I'm sure they have some outreach program with the local schools because the the food tastes like a school lunch and the deserts like they were from a 2nd grade bake sale. The juice is so bland you'd think it was made in a factory, its extremely authentic!

My only complaint is I couldn't spend more time at this hotel, the individual who gave it a 4 star rating really didn't do it justice.

ATTENTION FOLKS. I just had an awful experience with AGODA and CARTAGENA PLAZA HOTEL, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Even though the reservation and the payment were clearly confirmed and the vouchers were with me, I arrived at the lobby of the hotel and they left me with no room and no solutions to solve the issue, which I managed to do after a long wasting of time. If you don’t wanna be upset, be aware of this note. March 8th 2018.

The hotel is nice right in front of the beach, the food is good, the biggest issue this hotel has is that the elevators are really slow

Clean rooms and good location across road from public beach. Elevators had many issues and it's a tall hotel.

First time in Cartagena and it was amazing. The hotel was very clean and the food was good. I would have given them five stars but a few things needed attention. Towel rack was broken, i had to fix the shower door and the hot water was not there with little water pressure. Small things you can overlook when the staff was excellent and the service was great. I spoke no Spanish and they were very able to communicate with me and not make me feel lost. Would stay here again for sure. If you are in town this place should be on your list. The pool was nice as well and very clean. Get the all inclusive package it is well worth it!

Terrible experience. The management had the nerve to charge us for a dirty towel taken to the beach when we stayed on the 'executive' floor. Unheard of.

Well what can I say, you get what you pay. I did enjoy my time there but I left unsatisfied. The place is very clean. The service personnel is nice and friendly. The food feels good until the second day, after that you start to hate it. The pool at the roof of the building is cool for grownups, if you travel with kids is a logistics nightmare after a sandy day on the beach. In general the big squared building it's not really kids friendly. Anyway as I said at the beginning, for the price I payed for the whole vacation it's good, but it's not satisfying at the end.
