This place is fun. It has lots of rocks to climb up and down, and it also has a pond! Convenient access by bus and taxi.

Lion Grove Garden is another wonderful garden in Suzhou. It's very near The Humble Administrator's Garden and has a different characteristic. Both are worth to spend half a day.

This garden has lovely paths, corridors, pavilions and water features. It is more reasonably priced than others in the area, and the mass of rock forms give it a unique feel. I loved the way it was laid out, with every few steps leading to a different view (a basic feature of classical Chinese gardens). I think this garden would be a good one if you have kids, as they can clamber about the rock formations. Try to go early or out of season, as too many people really spoiled the experience for me personally.

A small garden with interesting formations of rocks.
It's an easy walk around the garden, but I wish I would have read about the history of the place so I can relate to it more.

Gorgeous Chinese garden. Monks that visited long ago said that the numerous unique rock sculptures and formations appeared as though there were lions prowling through the garden forest - hence the name. Truly beautiful.

Small but exquisitely furnished with nice architecture. Super crowded, and being small made it seem even more claustrophobic.
