  中国妇女儿童博物馆位于北京东长安街主干线北侧，建筑面积约3.5万平方米。是中国第一家以妇女儿童为主题的国家级专题博物馆。
  中国妇女儿童博物馆以收藏、展览和研究妇女儿童类文物，促进妇女儿童事业发展和为广大妇女儿童服务为主旨，博物馆收藏各类藏品近3万件。
  中国妇女儿童博物馆隶属于全国妇联，集收藏、展览、研究、教育和文化交流等职能于一体，设6个基本陈列和5个专题展览。
  2005年3月23日，中国妇女儿童博物馆筹建工作领导小组成立。
  2006年3月25日，中国妇女儿童博物馆奠基。
  2007年9月，中国妇女儿童博物馆举行第一次文物捐赠仪式。
  2009年9月，中国妇女儿童博物馆建成。
  2009年8月，全国人大常委会副委员长、全国妇联主席陈至立听取全国妇联书记处有关中国妇女儿童博物馆筹建工作的汇报，到中国妇女儿童博物馆工地指导工作并审查展陈大样.
  2009年9月26日，中国妇女儿童博物馆揭牌。
  2010年1月10日，中国妇女儿童博物馆隆重举行开馆仪式。
  2014年04月25日，彭丽媛与丹麦女王共同参观中国妇女儿童博物馆。在博物馆一层展厅共同欣赏了《安徒生童话在中国》展览，为现场80多名来自中丹两国的小朋友朗读了安徒生童话《丑小鸭》。

  The building is gorgeous, and it's not a long walk from exit B of Dongdan station. The exhibits are really interesting, though when I went, half of the 6th floor and the entire 3rd floor were closed off, presumably for renovations. There are English explanations for all the artifacts, and the prefaces/conclusions for each exhibit are also translated into English. Really happy to see a museum all about women and children that addresses the issues and triumphs of each demographic. Also happy to see that the museum includes artifacts and information about ethnic groups other than the Han ethnicity. Overall, a really good museum!! Well worth a visit.

  チャイナドレス展が開催されていたので訪問、手の込んだ現代の物が多かった。
  最上階では民族衣装の展示があった、特に単体でガラスケースに展示されいる衣装は、ゲーム三国無双の様な豪華な作りだった。
  地鉄1号線5号線 東単駅から東へ約450m、中紡大厦の裏。入場無料、パスポートを見せて、名前、住所、電話番号を記入。予約しなくても大丈夫だった。

  It's a 450 m walk (5 min) from exit B of the Dongdan metro station on line 1 or 5.
  The museum is large and spans 6 floors. The exhibits are organized well and with English signs. The 1st floor is the gift shop. The 2nd floor has a historical view of children in society. The 3rd floor has a children's play area. The 4th and 5th floors has a historical view of women in society. The 6th floor has an exhibit of women's clothing and art. It's so interesting to see how the position of women has changed through Chinese history. I really admired how Chinese woman have contributed and moved Chinese society forward. The museum highlights these women. It's a modern museum.
  
  Architecturally, the building stunning. Admittance is free with passport.
