An interesting place that has an extensive documentation on Soong Ching-Ling's life and her influence on modern China. The place can be also used for events.

In the Houhai lake area. The East side of the residence is under renovation from Mar 21 to May 21, and you must enter on the western gate. Only access to the museum and the former residence is available. No access to garden. The museum has detailed the life Soong Ching Ling from childhood to her final days. The English descriptions are very good. Very interesting to read the strength and spirit of this woman. She and her sisters had great influence in China. In the former residence, I was greeted by a young female docent who offered a tour of the home. She spoke English not confidently, but well enough. Of the sites I have been too, I have never been offered a free docent tour. It was appreciated. I give a lower rating because the garden and eastern side of the residence was unavailable due to renovation.

A charming garden used for relaxation by the neighborhood. A bit run down. Buildings not open. The gate is guarded by the military with security screening, an indication of the historical importance of this Soong sister. Good spot for a picnic.
