Loved everything about this hotel. The location, the room, the courtyard, the food and last but not least the staff. Fantastic staff. We stayed for 14 days and loved every hour of the stay.

This hotel is a hidden gem! It was slightly hard to find, you don't really see it until you are right in front of it. The road it is on is a one way street that is very narrow. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I love that upon your check in you're handed lots of sightseeing and restaurant recommendations, along with events and classes offered at the hotel. We took the cooking class which was a blast. Our room was very spacious, clean and cozy, however the shower was huge! The courtyard is a great place to hang out, as is the cozy little bar with a fireplace. I really can't rave enough about this place - if I ever find myself in Beijing again I will definitely be staying here!

Finding the place was a little tricky, but just print the taxi driver instructions from their website and you'll be fine. The desk staff all spoke English and were very helpful with various questions about the hotel and city. A "Welcome to Beijing" pamphlet on arrival suggested popular tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping areas. Their printed cards for the taxi drivers made getting around a snap, with the locations and names in English and Chinese. The room and hotel grounds were exceptional and very cozy/romantic. Not an immaculate luxury resort, but a high quality, local flavor home-away-from-home. Restaurant on site served regional and international fare and had light, live music. Well Located for many downtown Beijing attractions. Will be staying there again next time we visit!

Nice deco, good food, outstanding staff. Free Peking Opera show for dinner, but need to reserve seats at least before lunch that day. Very close to Wangfujing and an early example of alleyway hotels. English menu.

A good location for first time comers. Very close to "Forbidden City", and "Tienanmen Square", almost 15 to 20 minutes by walk.. It's a restored and refurbished, old Chinese house I guess.. Standard rooms are not big but sufficient.. The staff at reception are helpful and good English speaking, especially if you compare with most of the other Hotels..

Waking up every morning to the beautiful courtyard is the cherry on top of this amazing hotel! If you want some authentic Chinese experiences without sacrificing western amenities, this is the place for you. Great value and close to many attractions.

We had an amazing time! The staff was outstanding and the place was beautiful and clean with really interesting furniture and art that I felt like I just wanted to take home. They have a fantastic courtyard and the breakfasts are excellent. The place is also very well situated and you can walk to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. I am sorry to see anybody give this place less than five stars that are deserves. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Nice hotel, a boutique style and very very stylish - I mean you feel there like in Old Beijing! No wonder as it is located in a hutong. The service is excellent, also because they can pick you up from the airport and also organize a private trips to the Great Wall of China
