This museum is a bit of a disappointment. The museum is not very large, so only 45 or so minutes are needed. The robot dinosaur exhibit was pretty cool, as well as the Brazilian fish fossil one. But, the other exhibits were just cheap plastic sculptures. The gift shop was also very overpriced, and the staff were always unavailable. The aquarium was terrible, as the water was spilling onto the floor, and the fish were in crammed tanks meant for goldfish. And whatever you do, DO NOT GO DOWNSTAIRS. Unless you like seeing forensic stuff, like preserved fetuses and corpses, don't go there. I almost threw up, and I couldn't finish my lunch!

Once my favorite in childhood. But actually not that good.

The museum is mainly directed at school age children in my opinion, with the displays being brief and easy to grasp, but of course the adults can still find a lot to see and enjoy here. The entry is free, which is really a great benefit. On the downside the museum was pretty crowded.

While not the best example of a natural history museum in the world the the Beijing Museum of Natural History is still worth a visit if one has time. Located at 126, Tian Qiao Nan Street, in the Chongwen District of Beijing remains one of the most popular natural history museums in China. In fact tickets often have to be purchased in advance, such is its popularity. It was originally founded in 1951 as the National Central Museum of Natural History, and its name changed to the Beijing Museum of Natural History in 1962.
