Amenities are poor and shabby. The hotel is old and not upgraded. The internet however is good and as for location it is situated in the heart of town therefore quick access to the good spots in the town.
The only the good thing going for it is the staff, excellent bilingual staff always avialable and ready to help.
The price though is also on the high side for its standard with room rates going for 80kCFA. Never going to stay here again. Not value for money.response / report this review -

My regular hotel when I'm staying Douala. Good value for money as long as you book online, half the price compared to walk in customer.

Had to give Prince de Galles 4 stars, because of the very lively and courteous bilingual staff, ready to assist with the most little things to make your stay comfortable. From the Front desk up to the General Manager i was treated like a celebrity. I had a conversations with the chef and he was more than willing to meet my special needs. The laundry service was also really fast. Being in the center of the business district Prince de Galles is pretty averagely priced. I would recommend it anytime.

Was here for a meeting and used one of its conference rooms. It was classic and great experience for presentations, public speaking, and teachings. I could see that besides this there are other hotel services it offers and which seemed better than those of its competitors.

A three star hotel in its own class. Has the basics and if you are lucky, you could have the breathe taking view from your balcony. The staff are wonderful in their relations with guest and with a nice pool and a mini gym. A parking at the basement compliments the very little car park on the ground floor. Security is good. Internet is the fastest

As a traveller from India this place provides good service. Very friendly staff. Food is also very good, even a vegetarian can manage here. I was on the top floor the view of Douala port and Douala city is splendid.

The prince De Galles is a very nice place located in akwa (center of Douala). The place is secure and the staff are welcom with a large smile. The also have a swimming pool and a great view to the sea port.

Basic and good hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. The area outside is not so safe if you look like a foreigner and whwn I was there the internet was not stable.

They serve both African and European dishes,clean swimming pool and quite environment good for relaxation. Its 15 minutes from the airport, 10 from the bus station and 23 from the train station not forgetting it closeness to the seaport and the fresh breezes from the sea.
