The review is for the restaurant - not the rooms.

We arrived an hour before sunset. We sat outside and the view from here was such a treat.

We came here looking for a restaurant out of the touristic beaten path, with grandma cooking style.

The place is close to many hiking trails, very simple and they offer limited variety of drinks but you will find beer, cider or wine to your taste.

We had the bratwurst with rösti (was very good) and the cordon blue rapped around cheese, ham and apricot.

They have a great variety of meals but we could hardly finish our meals. The portions are very generous.

The place is open but luckily we had jackets. It could be breezier than the village below.

The GPS said that we arrived before we arrive. If you are driving, just keep driving and you will eventually find the place and the parking ahead of it.

Anita is very nice and friendly. The "Wali's" steak is the signature dish of her husband Walter.
They accept cards. They had a menu in English as well.

    Enjoy.

The hosts and location are very nice. The room is well priced but because the hotel is far away you have to eat at the restaurant which was a bit pricey. Beautiful views and hikes surround the area. The rooms are fairly comfortable and offer a classic chalet experience.

This a good walk from the main town of Grindelwald, about 25-30 minutes, but well worth it, and you will work up a good appetite on the way there. The lady that served us is very hospitable. We got a huge slab of delicious meat bathed in a garlic sauce that you cook yourself on the table. Delicious. The local beer, Rugen Brau, is very good too and tastes especially good after the hike.

Nice out of the way place, the hike up there will help you feel no regret for finishing your plate of great food. Very friendly local staff, husband and wife. If you are riding up on your motorcycle you will be sure to find some friends.
