Good location, nice room for triple, newly renovated and friendly stuff.
Clean, central and good service. Quiet basic though.
Simple hotel where everything works as it should and a very friendly service!! A great location too
Clean & modern.
Central location near tram station, cafes, shops, restaurants.
Very helpful & friendly staff.
Basic breakfast
A very very sparse hotel. Staff is nice, but there are zero frills. The shampoo is the bodywash. NOT a place for light sleepers in the summer. Since there isn't air conditioning (as is the case in most of Switzerland) you need to open your windows in the summer. The nightlife and construction (going on till September 2017) make falling asleep difficult. The breakfast is cold meats, hardboiled eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and coffee.
BEWARE BED BUGS!
This is a basic two star hotel that appears clean and modern. My room faced the busy road and was very noisy and stuffy. When you do open the windows and curtains for air you are met with a severe lack of privacy and noise due to facing the busy road. There is no kettle, fridge or phone in the room to call down to reception. Tea is available at reception but this can be a pain when you have been working long hours and just want a hot drink after getting out of the shower etc. Breakfast is also basic and the fruit basket was often swarming with fruit flies which can put you off breakfast. The hotel itself is sparse and frankly a bit depressing.
But I could have overlooked all this. What I could not overlook was my nightmarish experience with bed bugs, something I never expected to encounter while on a business trip in Switzerland! On my second night at the hotel I awoke scratching my arm. I turned on the bed lamp and my arm was red from scratching. As I turned on the light I saw a tiny bug scurry across the wall and disappear into the wood paneling along the floor. Earlier I had seen a tiny spot of blood on my bed which had been smeared. I had assumed it was from a scratch on my leg. In my groggy state, the bug, itchy arm and blood spot all swam into a hazy conclusion. I was suddenly alert and quickly googled bed bugs. My suspicions were confirmed and I saw two more bugs I was able to correctly identify from the picture. I went to reception but there were no other rooms. The man at reception accompanied me to my room and asked to see these so called 'bugs'. I was freaking out we did not find any (at this point the lights had been on for about 15 mins and bed bugs avoid light) and the man made it seem like I was a hysterical female who was imagining or making up these bugs - he told me could change the sheets but that was all. He also gave me other unhelpful suggestions, saying there were no dangerous bugs in Switzerland and that we could start off by closing the windows. He told me that if I found a bug he could help me but as there were no visible bugs he could not help. I was later able to kill a bug that was crawling ON THE BED and present it to him in a tissue which he kept. I spent that night in another colleague's room and was thoroughly shaken.
Not everyone may have such a revulsion to bed bugs but to me it was totally horrible. So due to this Hotel Marta gets a very negative review from me.
Decent place. Decent price. Nice service. Loud between floors. Breakfast was just OK. Near everything.
A great place to stay that's close to transport and Zurich city. Easy to find and the room was comfortable, and we had a good night's sleep! Plus has a pretty view out the window of the funicular.
This was a nice, basic hotel. The price was right; however I would not recommend staying here in the summer. There is no air conditioner and if you leave the window open for air the noise below is very bad due to two bars/pubs being open late. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful though. The hotel is located near a tram stop and several shops and pedestrian zones. I would stay here again, but not during summer.
Very simple hotel, but in a fantastic location (only 5 mins walk from the train station), and very close to some great restaurants. Clean, comfortable, no frills accommodation. And quite affordable for Zurich.
Center, near train station, good staff
Nice quaint place. In the middle of Zurich. ..very easy access to public transportation
Nice hotel. Nice location.
A fairly decent hotel. Rooms are small but they are ok for a short trip. The staff is very polite and communicates well in English. I had nothing to complain about.
