This restaurant is a classic in Geneva. Great brasserie style food opened non-stop from 11:45am to 02:00am - something rare in Geneva! I come here quite often and never get disappointed. Food is fresh and delicious. It's no coincidence that the restaurant is always crowed. Suggest to make reservations in advance to get a good table - terrace during both summer and winter (of course the cover it - very nicely - during the winter). Service is always in a rush but efficient. Prices may seem a bit above average.

Honesltly my favorite restaurant in geneva . The food and the service is more then great . The mussels ( devoured the whole pot ) , the escargot , the tartar ( to die for ) , the salads and the desserts were just so perfect .

Different menu than what you usually find in Geneva, a nice selection of wines, and a bistro feel. But just does it feel very cost or have much sole unlike its cousin in Paris. And it is expensive, but then everything is in geneva.

For a place so highly regarded by locals, this was definitely one of the low-lights of my visit to Geneva. Food is one thing, however, it is the combination of the food and its method of delivery to your diners which defines the experience. On my visit, the latter, was severely lacking. I understand that we are not all perfect, and that we have days that are better than others, however, this is a place of hospitality, and the actions of wait staff leave a deep impression on those that you serve. From forcefully putting plates down onto the table, to his attitude during the night and to the closing of the evening, where he visibly displayed his how upset he was with our dissatisfaction of his service, this definitely left a bad aftertaste. The blatant sarcasm and insolence shown to us at the end of the night was the last straw, that cemented our impression of your establishment.

We are simple people, who want good food and good service to call a night "great". This definitely did not live up to our expectations. This will be our first and last time to Brasserie Lipp, and it is unfortunate to say, that your reputation has not lived up to expectation.

My experience at Brasserie Lipp in Geneva is your worst culinary nightmare. The food was slightly above average, but nothing to write home about. The servicewell - let's just say I made it my goal to warn others.

Like any other foreigners visiting a new country, we rely upon the almighty google search to help us select the finest dining experience.

Brasserie Lipp is featured heavily on all articles. And rightly so. There is nothing wrong with the food. It is the service which is appalling and downright disgusting.

In Australia, service inside top restaurants is consistently excellent. Some waiters might be having a bad day - this is understandable. However, with Brasserie Lipp this was not so. We walked in and were not greeted. This is acceptable - if the wait team was busy (which they were not). We were not acknowledged and had to flag down a waiter before being seated.

At this stage we were more concerned about getting comfortable and ordering our food. I didn't notice that our table was specifically not being looked after and we were left alone for a good 20 minutes before our waiter turned up at the table asking us for our orders.

Patience is a virtue. But in a restaurant of this calibre, and the prices you pay - patience is not required or expected of the customer.

When the table was being set with forks and cutlery, the waiter ordered me to remove my phone which was sitting on the table.

In some countries, having a phone is seen as bad etiquette. Regardless, bad etiquette or not - I am the one paying. If the waiter had asked me politely to move my phone, then of course I would have as well. Tonality is so important and I could sense trouble beginning to brew.

I could ignore the long wait times and the lack of acknowledgment at the start. But it was quite hard to ignore the fact that there was something really, truly wrong with the service and attitude of the wait staff at this restaurant.

This lack of care and overall bad attitude was again evident in the way they took the plates off the table.

My teeth almost got knocked out when they took my plates away. Thank god for my jedi reflexes.

Given the air of pompousness from the waiter, I decided not to tip them. I am a generous tipper (10% minimum). But I rarely not tip. This was one of those moments.

The waiter had the gall to stand next to me and watched as a skipped over the tip section on the credit card terminal. Upon leaving, he also had the gall to say "thank youfor the service."

In my country we'd call these types of people cu**ts. Actually, anywhere you go, you'd get called a cu**t. The service of this restaurant definitely earned themselves that label.

If you, like myself, are currently trying to find a decent restaurant to get a feed in this city, I would avoid Brasserie Lipp altogether.

There i another restaurant close-by called Di Paolo. This is a restaurant which has definitely earned it's place in my memory bank as a warm and inviting place to share a meal with my friends and family.

Excellent service, ambience and the cuisine was beautifully presented. Hi risk bringing two young boys given the ambience.. but it worked :)
