I attended a Kawartha Chamber networking event at the Westwind Inn and it was fantastic. Perfect venue for a small group. Appetizers were delicious.

Positives
- Ideal location, not too far away
- Located on a lake with very nice views
- Checkin was fast and the receptionist was very nice and friendly
- Confirmed our dinner reservations for 7pm was still OK
- Room is large (we chose an upgraded room in the Chalet, separate from the main inn)
Negatives
- Breakfast hours were set too late in the morning and were told they could not be changed. Friday morning breakfast was scheduled for 9am
- Of the 4 nights we were there, we only had dinner on 3 of the nights. The dinners were not completely horrible, but were not close to being what was expected we chose not to subject ourselves to the same boring low-end dinner.
- Breakfasts were no better than dinner. Raw batter in pancakes, egg order incorrect, dried fruit salad. Breakfast hour was originally set as 9am then the next day set to 9:30am. Only after practically begging for it to be changed to an earlier time and some negotiation with the chef did they change our breakfast to 8:30am (maybe if we had kept the 9:30am time it would have given the chef enough time to cook the pancakes all the way).
- Dinner reservation for 7pm was changed at the last minute to 6pm by the chef (so we were told). We had no other choice, we couldn’t keep our 7pm reservation, we had to have 6pm or go elsewhere.
- Room was not cleaned properly, used wine glasses were not washed or replaced with clean glasses, same with the coffee mugs. The coffee maker was not cleaned, nor where the coffee, cream, milk etc replenished. The electric kettle had something green growing in it so we didn’t use it.

We will NOT be returning NOR will we recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

This was the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for. It was tranquil and serene. The food was awesome - home cooked dinners (four courses) with friendly service. Made to order breakfast to start the day off before you took off on your water adventure or just relaxed. Staff was incredibly friendly and eager to help. Highly recommend for an unpretentious adult getaway.

Disappointing experience and overpriced accommodations relative to comparable/better choices. The worst thing is that the owners/management, namely Inga, seems to be comfortable insulting her customers instead of expressing gratitude for their business. Such was our experience and it appears to be no exception. In perusing past reviews, it seems those which are negative or mixed are met with a “lashing out” by the owners/management. Those customers are depicted as angry, rude, unhappy people who don't appreciate value when they see it. Westwind displays rigidity and arrogance towards reviews by customers. The only reviews they welcome are the positive ones and use insults as a way of intimidating unhappy customers from sharing their experience with others.

Many of us have stayed in higher end hotel chains and received superior treatment and better value for our money. Our family has travelled extensively and has never encountered the rudeness and ingratitude displayed by Westwind Inn.

I would not recommend this place.

I love this place. My lady and I have stayed here 3 times and always have a wonderful peaceful time. Take a paddle boat up the lake and visit the Gallery on the Lake. Set in a most wonderful forest with a lake view to die for.

We stayed @ Westwind inn in mid April were there for 2 nights! Th rooms are nice and cozy with a fireplace and a deck u can sit out on! We thought it was pricy enough but in summer they have lots to do with lake being rite there! They have an indoor pool u can book fr an hr by yourself fr privacy! Th food is amazing and u won't go hungry!!! The staff is very friendly!!

Lovely rustic setting for a weekend getaway. Food was lovely, beautiful view of the lake from the dining room. Rooms are slightly dated but the gas fireplaces make up for it :) Lots to see and do when the weather is nice, there are walking trails right off the resort.

Overpriced for what it was. Was not expecting the upgrade cost (or that I would want or need one). When I called about rooms they said they were all pretty much the same and would love them.
Food was not great. Small breakfast seating window (9-10). But to be honest wasn't too disappointed based on food that we had at dinner. King bed was actually two twins put together, so split in middle of night. Dated and somewhat rundown. The actual Inn temperature was cold, so really didn't want to leave the room.

Positives would be location and the rooms are cozy, but not worth what you pay for.

Would not recommend and will not return.
