Our meals were very good. The Carlyle always produces geeat eats and has a great drink menu.

Had lunch in the restaurant here and ordered the Beef Bourgingnon with mashed potatoes. Delicious! Great service too. Great food and quaint atmosphere make this a must visit.

It's a really nice little place. I spent my time mostly on the patio area where it's decorated with a shabby-chic style with lots of plant life. It looks like a really cool place to hang out. I'd be interested to know in the future how much space they have for holding events - not just receptions.
The food was pretty good too. Lots of fresh vegetables and herbs.response / report this review -

A quick impromptu stop to this quaint town of port hope, this was a great place to stay. Everything is walkable, decent options for restaurants around the town. We didn't eat dinner at Carlyle, it looked fair it seemed to cater to an early and older crowd. Their bar is perfectly dark and quiet for a late night cocktail or beerthe room stay includes breakfast which was actually really great! Served to us and with options!

Stayed overnight. Classically decorated rooms that are fully equipped with what you need. Nice breakfast in the morning with a selection of eggs,toast,sausage and bacon. Port hope is a beautiful town with many little shops and restaurants. The only down fall was that there was no air conditioner installed in the rooms yet. Not a huge deal but it would have made the stay a bit more comfortable.

Elegant atmosphere. Very disapointed in my steak, I asked for well done but it was still bloody inside. Not sure if this was a renegade cook deciding that he wanted to cook it his/her way but more emphasis should be put on what the customer wants. Too embarrassed to send it back with other diners so close

An absolute five. The owner was welcoming and very helpful. The food was fabulous. The staff so friendly. The rooms were clean and lovely. The whole Inn decor is amazing. We love this place. Will definitely go back again.
