Money grubbing and holds pets for ransom; One time my kitty was sick with something but we could only afford in house testing (that wouldn't do much,) but we still paid it for it was all we could afford to do. I had paid the amount required--going into overdraft to do so--and was awaiting my cats cage when this large, overweight man came in an started heckling me for more money, saying the in house test was useless. I protested saying, "I have no more money to give. Literally, I don't, I've got nothing left," but he kept hounding me and when I got "irrational," he sent in a lady nurse to deal with me.

I told her what had happened with the other vet and that, "I want my cats cage, *now,*" and awaited for my mother to pick us up. And while I was being berated for more cash, he would hold onto and stroke my cat rather vigorously, domineering way that I had to physically get between in order to stop. It was extremely unsettling.

Finally my cage came and even THEN he protested, asking for more money to which I said, "If you care so god damn much, then you absorb the price and send it off for outside testing because I literally do not have any more money give. Check the paper work I signed. ask the lady why I had to pay with two cards. The well is dry, damn it. We're DONE. Now let me leave."

I was wondering if I was going to have to fight my way out.

Sadly, this wasn't our only visit. They examined our other, now late cat, Isis and just determined she had anal cancer through physical exam alone and put her down on the spot. We really didn't get much time to say goodbye and we were never convinced euthanasia was necessary but they preyed upon my grieving mother and forced the issue. I wish we knew of the other vets office not that far away from this scam. Sure, it might not be open 24hrs but they're respectful when you say, "I can't afford this," try and give you options and respect your decisions.

That's another thing. This vets office would list unchosen treatments on these papers as "Patient refused," as if we're purposefully trying to be a delinquent. This is a guilt tactic. Every other vet simply removes the option from the bill entirely when they present it to you at the end of the session.

Sad part is, they're preying upon people's desperation. We really do need a 24hr vets office in this location but the people running it only care about dollar signs and will do anything/everything they can to get the money out of you. Please, someone reputable, buy out the greedy gusses, change the branding and run that place like you're supposed to. I've given up hope on the "professionals" that currently run the place.

Had to review since we almost drove past it to take our dog to get stitches based on bad reviews. The staff were fast and knowledgable, the vet John was very skilled and affable. Quickly provided paperwork for our pet insurance claim and we didn't find the prices unexpected or unreasonable to begin with. Newsflash people: pets are expensive, they get sick and have accidents - get pet insurance and stop complaining about vet bills. VETS provided not only excellent emergency care for our dog but also helpful advice for maintaining his breed-specific health, at a reasonable cost.

Dr Mitelman saved my male cat's life when his urinary tract became blocked. He and his team were considerate and unbelievably generous with their time, and the amount of information they shared with me throughout the two weeks my cat was being treated. I was invited to hang out in the treatment room, I was shown every ultrasound and was present for anaesthesia. The surgery ultimately recommended completely resolved the issue that wasn't healed through less expensive or invasive means, all of which were first exhausted. The surgery was of expert caliber. My cats stitches were perfect. He healed quickly and didn't demonstrate any discomfort beyond frustration witg the cone. I trust this vet and recommend Dr Mitelman.

My cat playdoe suddenly started limping this week and this morning when i got back i noticed something wrong with his back paw. The doc suspected right away but wanted to do the imaging to be sure and it turned out to be cancer. There wasn't much hope that treatment would do more then prolong his suffering and his back paws where already quite damaged to the cancer suddenly going crazy.

So he off chasing squirrels somewhere better now.

Did it cost quite a bit yes but these our are pets which aren't cheap anywhere and this is the beaches folks which is costly just to live with in.

They were quite kind and explained everything along the way so there were no hidden costs and everything was understood.
Could i have gotten it cheaper elsewhere likely but for a rush visit to a vet it likely wasn't going to make much difference and this was a loved on in need.

I gave them four out of five stars since nothing ever perfect but they were all professional, caring and there when he needed them.

The staff and especially Doctor Mitelman were very kind and mindful of our questions and concerns as we had to admit our cat for 3-4 days. Even as we had to say goodbye to our little one, both the doctor and the nurses were very respectful of the entire process, and provided a dignified approach to a very sensitive moment.

All in all it isn't cheap, but do remember they are a 24 hr facility and they also take pet insurance (which we didn't have at the time).

I brought in my 4ft boa constrictor (snake) because she had a bacterial infection that was causing her not to be able to breathe. The doctor and front staff were very kind and loved my snake . they even took photos with her. When it came to billing they were realistic prices and allowed me to decide what I wanted from what the doctor decided needed to be done. When I had decided to only go with the meds the doctor came in and showed me how I would inject her and where. I really like this vet and would bring my animals back there any time !!! Thank you !!

I recently had to put down my cat. He became sick so quickly. All the staff , techies and vets were caring an compassionate to Conan. When we had finally made the agonizing decision to put him down, everyone was very supportive. Conan went quietly and peacefully in my arms surrounded by his family. Special thanks to Dr. Jonathan Mitelman

Thank you for caring so much.

The Kingston Road Veterinary Clinic is awesome and the very best vet clinic I've ever taken our cats, and we've taken our numerous cats to clinics for over 30 years. The empathy for both the patient and the family exhibited by the staff combined with their truly exemplary authentic veterinary care, makes this clinic second to none. I only wish human medical treatment could be so good. The star of the clinic, in my view, is Dr. Jonathan Mitelman, whose diagnostic and surgical talent has saved two of our cats who had challenging and complicated conditions. He patiently and thoroughly explained each step along the diagnostic and treatment journey with compassion, deep expertise, and humility. My experience with Dr. Mitelman has found him to be professional, caring, and dedicated. I, for one, am glad a clinic of the calibre of this one exists in the city.

Not impressed. There are other options in the GTA, I strongly suggest you consider going to another care facility. Serious lack of care in comparison to other vets and care facilities.

I have been with Dr Mitelman from the beginning of his practice. He has been nothing but compassionate, kind and very patient with me and great to my many many pets over the years. I recently took my little Chihuahua in for a routine dental check - l had noticed her breath was quite bad and she was licking her lips frequently (not alot of obvious symptoms) ! Dr Mitelman examined her suggested some immediate dental extractions - she had abcesses of both her bottom molar teeth. I agreed surgery was quickly booked and l am so glad she went in for this checkup - she is only 6 years old. Unfortunately she now has had all her teeth removed due to a very significant dental and gum infection. And l thought l was giving her the best of care l brushed her teeth every Sunday assumed she had to be fine - just bad breath ? See you need health exams you never know when early signs of illness are there - catch early - quick recovery - long lifespan ! Dr Mitelman took wonderful care of her she is doing better now then she has in quite awhile and l did not even realize the extent of her dental problem thanks to Dr M this sweet little girl will now be with me for many more years now to come! She had wonderful care and has recovered really quickly ! I have only the best of recommendations for Dr Mitelman's care and his vet clinic. l have always been treated with respect and professionalism !

First, the care was compassionate and my 8-year-old scaredy-cat actually stayed fairly calm thanks to careful, slow handling by Dr Mitelman. Second, all tests and procedures were explained and costs were quoted. Excellent follow-up from all staff (phone calls to check and some extra help two days later following necessary dental surgery). I wouldn't hesitate to bring a pet here and will certainly return for future care of my cat.
