These guys were great!! I called them last night to get a quote on repairing a rusted out exhaust flange gasket with broken off bolt heads which had been driving me nuts for weeks. They were super friendly on the phone which was nice after calling 4 shops previous who were rude and dismissive.
The Mufflerman offered me FREE diagnosis on my car the next day. Upon showing up for the appointment, they diagnosed and repaired the exhaust in less than 40 minutes. What I liked at this point was after the technician diagnosed the issue, the service advisor immediately explained the diagnosis honestly (I knew the issue in depth but didn't want to repair it myself on the driveway in -17 weather) without trying to sell me a new cataliytic converter or something. He also asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the work instead of just doing it and billing me.
Pricing was great, $100 for the repairinsane compared to the dealership which wanted almost that just for the gasket and bolts. While in the waiting room, I observed the guys not charge an older customer for a very small job they performedthat kind of integrity is so nice to see.
100% will bring my next job to the muffler man!
Reasonable price and quick didn't try to upsale any thing to me
I was told by another garage that the gasket on my vehicle could not be repaired and I needed a new catalytic converter that would cost near a thousand dollars. Thankfully, on a recommendation I sought a second opinion from The Mufflerman. They were able to schedule a convenient appointment for me and after looking at my vehicle, quickly determined that the gasket was indeed repairable. I did NOT need to purchase a new catalytic converter and I left the shop in under an hour with a bill that totaled $112 dollars. I dealt with Andy and Ron and found them both very professional, honest and helpful. I would recommend this business to others and I will bring my vehicle back for any future repairs! Thank you so VERY much for your expertise and great service!!!
I have dealt with the franchise owners for close to 20 + years. Management may have changed yet the honesty with service has not changed. They take the time to get to know you and I am certain they know where the bs stops yet they try to accommodate and fit you in to time slops for repair based upon important business issues or needs. I trust them and their workers to give me sound advice at a market rate. There isn't a shuttle or a caravan yet they have a clean shop, great technicians and a clean wash room to boot. I trust them and would readily refer for honest work.. Keith
I was told 6 months ago that I would need a brake job for my car in less than a year by the car manufacturer. I brought the car into The Mufflerman in Kitchener. After they inspected and tested the brakes they told me my brakes were still fine and no brake job is required at this time.
There was no charge for this inspection.
This is not the first time I have brought my vehicles in to them for inspections and they have l told me the repair can wait and not charged me.
It's good to know there is a place you can bring your car to and they are actually looking after the customer.
My husband has gone here in the past for an e-test and was happy with the service and the speed. So when our car started making loud noises he took it in to be checked. We were told that the muffler needed to be changed and some other work as well. We were quoted $985 and told that there was a part coming in at noon so we could come back at 1 to have the work done and it would only take about an hour. My husband went back at 1 (with my 3 year old again) only to be told that the part didn't arrive and we needed to come back the next day. After he left he called VW directly and was quoted $950 incl. taxes. He called this shop back and told them this, to which Ron told him that he would do it for $1000 all in and could do it a day earlier than VW. Fine. We showed up the next day to have the work done. Upon paying my husband was presented a bill for $1000 PLUS tax. Which is NOT what was agreed upon, and is in fact $15 more than we were originally quoted. We had no choice but to pay it, but have filed a complaint with head office Mufflerman. The work itself is not done correctly as the muffler is still making noise. When my husband questioned a mechanic (at this shop!) about the noise he was told that it didn't sound right and it should be looked at again, despite being told by Ron that everything was fine and fixed correctly.
So we are now out a day and a half of our time to fix something that should have taken an hour, out nearly $300 more than we should be, and we now need to bring our car back to have it looked at again. I would seriously consider thinking twice before bringing any vehicle here. We don't have $1250 to donate to this shop for work that will need to be redone.
Welded an exhaust hanger. Stopped the rattle. Didn't charge me. Best experience in YEARS.
Awesome service. Diagnosed and fixed and issue I've been having for months under an hour and at great price. Would recommend.
I have been coming here for decades. I trust Ron and his guys to provide me straight and honest repairs and maintenance on my vehicles. No glitz and glamor - just good work ethic. Plus they always have coffee on hand while you wait. I think their pricing is very reasonable - especially compared to the auto dealerships. I started going because I needed muffler work and now I go there for just about everything. They have really expanded all their services. I have no problem recommending them to other people.
I have been using the services of The Muffleman for over 20 years now.
Have always had such great service between my personal vehicle's as well as for my business. I should have written a review long ago but after my last experience which was over the top I couldn't wait any longer. More than once I have heard the words no charge for time spent on a minor repair. Even one time they advised me of a potential warranty with the manufacture I was unaware of which had later been repaired at the dealership under warranty (saved me over $500). They could have easily made the repair & charged me. That's just the type of company I want servicing my vehicles. Thank-you Ron Edwards & all the staff for such great service!! I Highly recommend The Mufflerman !!
Happened to be driving by when I suddenly experienced a loud grinding sound. They said they would look at it over the weekend. Called me on Saturday and said I needed all new breaks. The breaks were all brand new less than a year old. Wanted 600 for pads and rotors so I said no. Asked them to check suspension and wheel bearing. They said they did and it was all fine.
As I drove it home the grinding was still there. I lifted the truck and found the passenger wheel bearing was in pieces inside the hub. Took me 5 seconds to figure it out once lifted. The only thing that kept my when on was the fact that I have 4x4.
They told me it was the breaks making the noise and nothing too serious. Could have killed me and my family. I am eagerly awaiting their opening so I can go talk to them face to face today. They were not my first choice but they told me they do everything there that's where the break down happened.
This is the 2nd time that I have been to this shop. This would hopefully be the last time I will get anything done at this location. The worst service experience that I ever had.
I handed over my car at 8:00am to get a safety inspection done. They claimed that the rims and battery tray are damaged and thus need to be replaced. I was advised that the rim will be delivered from a location three hours away from the shop and the car will be ready to be picked up by noon. Trevor advised that I will get a call. I went home and waited for a call back. At around 1:30pm, I called and requested an update. I was advised that the rims have just arrived, will be installed after lunch and ready to be picked up at 2:30pm. Since I did not receive any call, I showed up at the shop at 3:00pm and requested an update. I was informed that one of the rims received was damaged and are awaiting a replacement. I'm still in the shop @3:30pm waiting this nightmare to end and never ever come back again. I wish if there was a rating below zero as that is what they really deserve. Well, here comes their dishonest behavior: They charged me 70$ each for two rims and installed an old rim.
Hi ,
I typically don't write review emails. But when a experience needs to be documented it's either good or bad. In this case it's horrible !
I have never had such an incredible awful experience with an automotive company.
Where to start?
I called in ahead to make an appointment to have a muffler replaced with a new after market muffler. I called in to make sure they had the expertise and parts to make this happen. They said YES we have it all and it will take about an hour!!! I'm missing a day of work to get this done. I showed up 30 minutes early to my appointment. After waiting an additional hour past my appointment I over heard a gentleman at the desk mention something about not having 3" pipe. Knowing my exhaust is 3" I patiently waited to see if he was going to say something to me. no I waited another 15 minutes before I got up from my seat and asked if something was wrong. He said " oh yea sorry we don't have 3 inch pipe right now it's coming on our truck at 12:30" my appointment was for 10am. He was going to let me sit and wait until the truck came without telling me. Already frustrated with that series of events. He re-Scheduled me for 1pm and said " we will get you in right at 1pm" no apologies or anything. It's now 1:40pm as I right this email and my truck is still out in the Parking lot. With no updates. They said it's an HOUR ! Job max and I'll be out of here by 2:30 at the latest.
No wonder you have a 3 star out or 5. I wished I had read this before coming. I will definitely be adding my experiences to Facebook and other local online review boards.
Can't wait to see the welding job you guys perform. I'm a sheet metal mechanic by trade. If I had a hoist I would have done this work myself.
I will also be reviewing the weld and adding it to the review.
Hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a automotive company.
The guy helping me couldn't even remember what I was doing to my truck when I came back 2 hours later .
Are you kidding me !?
.
Total time at muffleman for an exhaust replacing ( muffler only ) 9:30am - 2pm and counting. quoted an hour how are you guys even in business? Good thing I'm not busy and have no life.
Apologies for my lack of grammatical efforts as I'm firing this off in a fury !!
Go to a real exhaust shop with professionals.
