With saddened hearts, we would like to pass along the information that one of our friends who attended Special Camp has passed away. Lloyd Ensor attended camp for many summers. His smile and friendly nature will be missed!

Santa paid a visit to the BRCCED Staff Kids' Christmas Party. It was such a wonderful time and the kids had a blast! Here are some of the planning committee who worked hard to create this fun event! More photos to come!

Have you ever seen such talent? Baby, it's cold outsidebut warm in the Chalet! There's been many renditions of this song since 1953 but this might be our favourite. And certainly a favourite among our Seniors.

Our Annual Senior Supportive Housing Christmas celebration and dinner happened in Toronto! A great event with lots of feasting and laughs- especially when the staff performed a Christmasy drama!

Seniors’ Art Program – Funded by the Provincial ‘Seniors’ Active Living Centres’ – Community Grant Funding
On Friday November 23rd, 21 Seniors at BRCCED-Toronto gathered for the day to learn, and to create a collaborative piece of fibre art, which will be given to the Rumball Organization in honour of its 40th Anniversary in April 2019. The day was led by local Artist, Pria Mazumdar, who guided the Seniors in making an individual piece of artwork to take home, as well as the collaborative piece. Thanks to all who participated in the day!

It is with great sadness that we share with you that our dear friend,Wayne Meadows, has passed away. Wayne lived on the second floor at our Bayview location and attended Deaf Camp for many years.
We will miss his friendship, his laughter and his terrific sense of humour.
He will be greatly missed by his neighbours, his friends and those who called Wayne family.
He made our days better.
Details will be announced later regarding his Celebration of Life service.
Our prayers are with Wayne's family at this time.

The Bob Rumball Centre holds a very special place in my heart. Many moons ago my mom moved to Ontario from Newfoundland at the time she was a single Deaf mother with three little girls to care for. The Bob Rumball Centre (more specifically Bob Rumball) reached out and assisted in finding us a place to live and made sure there was food in our bellies until mom got on her feet. I will be forever grateful to him and all that he did to give us a fair start here in Ontario.
Many years later I attained a job at the Bob Rumball Centre where I was fortunate to meet so many wonderful and caring people from Clients, fellow staff and management thanks again to the Bob Rumball organization for all you have done and continue to do for the Deaf community. forever a fan!response / report this review -

It's shameful to find out that the Bob Rumball association long-term nursing homes will place hearing people ahead of deaf persons. What happened to my friend's mother is truly awful and a terrible shame on Rumball.

The Bob Rumball Foundation betrayed my dying Deaf mother's hopes and dreams by prioritizing hearing people ahead of her for a nursing home at the Barrie, ON LTC home. She waited approx. 2 years for a bed in a home supposedly accredited for the Deaf (but which takes many Hearing people) before she died. Shame on you, Rumball foundation.
