Great $9 lunch menu which includes spring rolls! Quick service, great place for workday lunch
5 stars for the $9 lunch special. I love the spicey beans with tofu, which comes with rice, salad and a spring roll. It's definitely a hole in the wall, so the rating is for the food quality and price.
Thai Chef is a casual restaurant that has a great variety of dishes that suit both lunch and dinner. The family that owns and operates this establishment are spectacular people and always friendly. The spicy basil dishes are out of this world and they make great wontons for a starter. Also, the dishes are quite large so it is likely you will be taking a portion to go. (I follow a philosophy of moderation when I eat, however, so if you are expecting dishes that compare to those of Anton's you will be sorely disappointed Or pleasantly surprised?) Overall, the food here is rich, aromatic, and flavourful without feeling heavy or oil forward.
We have ordered for pick up in Thai Chef for the first time and the food was very good. We will definitely order more from this restaurant.
Curries were delicious!
Good service and delicious food at a good price. What it does, it does extremely well.
Not impressed with the service or food! Wasn't greeted just TOLD to sit. We had to remind the server of our alcoholic beverages. They sold jewelry in the restaurant, wasn't sure where I was. Water was brought in glasses that have seen better times. And the restaurant was hot, but the server said that the AC was working.
Very good Thai. I am a bit of a Thai snob, so 5 stars requires exceptional food. They are good, but not quite that. Small portions. Clean. Good service.
Delicious Thai dishes! Portion slightly on the smaller side. Seating area is not bad. Bright and clean looking restaurant.
I have been to this lovely restaurant twice. The food is delicious. It's high in quality, and for a very reasonable price. The waitresses are very social and very loving, and they provide very good service. In, fact they also give their cans to the poor as a form of charity. I am very proud to have this restaurant in the community.
Best AUTHENTIC thai food Ive had. The massaman curry, and the spicy eggplant basil is the best! Order with a side of coconut rice and thai iced tea :) The restaurant is family owned and operated, and the staff are very friendly. Every now and then they will have a baked taro custard as a dessert special - you need to get this when it is available. Ordering delivery might take a long time so its best to call in for pick up or eat in.
I ordered red curry and green curry. I've never had red curry before so I wanted to try it. There was no mention of extra salty or extra fishy in the description so I'm not sure if that's normal.. but it was like straight fish sauce. Terrible. Also the vegetables were very boring and not fresh. The red curry stated pea shoots. Well the DNA test detected that was a lie. Won't be finishing that one. The green curry was good though. But again the vegetables were kinda nasty. Didn't eat them just used the sauce for the rice. Rice cooked perfectly though. They said 45 mins but wow were they fast. 25 mins max. Very friendly delivery driver. Won't order from here again. Nothing special about them and I'll be throwing the majority of it out. :(
A lot of people tell me good things about this place, but I've yet to find a dish I enjoyed. I do like Thai food, but perhaps this place is extra authentic for my foodcourt palette. Each time I am invited there by friends I try something new, and find it all rather bland and greasy.
Food is very good and very reasonably priced. Not much ambiance for eating in, but delivery has always been fast and the delivery man is one of the nicest and friendliest guys I've ever met!
Just bombed a final and needed some good ol yummy curry as comfort food. Decided to check this place out as it was on my way. I got the yellow curry with tofu for take out. The service was as far as I could tell really good, the girl working there was fast and friendly. Have to say was not very comforting, it tastes too salty and the tofu was over fried. I give it a score of edible only as I have once had inedible Thai. Hope they figure the kinks out in the recipe(no salt!!) as I would love another Thai place to feast in.
