We decided to try a new Japanese restaurant and were not disappointed. The chicken teriyaki was super flavourful and the Japanese pickle rolls were delicious. We will be going back again!

Good atmosphere, Japanese chef but Portions are very small and I have had better quality sushi/appetizers for way less from across Canada. Don't think I'll be coming back.

There is a good reason why Sushi Hiro has been around for what seems like forever. Hiro-San is still at it even after 20 years he has not lost his touch or his focus on quality sushi only fit for the culture from where the food comes. With Sushi Club gone Sushi Hiro may take the #1 spot for sushi in Calgary.

Dimly lit, kind but seemingly disorganized waitresses (they forgot to come get our order), food was good, bring socks bc it's a shoes-off type of room Felt grimey in the summer bc everyone is barefoot on carpeted flooring

I came around lunch rush and it took quite a while for my food to get to me. However, the wait was worth it cause the food was nice and fresh. Great service and atmosphere.
Edit: I went again a few weeks later for dinner and was given fantastic service along with having a great conversation with the chef. Definitely somewhere I'll be coming back to.response / report this review -

Can attest to other's reviewers praise in friendly and attentive service. I had a touch too much wasabi incident and they were caring enough to check on me. The sashimi dishes from the dinner menu were good quality and fresh tasting. IMHO the prices weren't too bad. A place I would return when convenient.

Really enjoyed our supper tonight at Sushi Hiro. We just returned from Japan about a month ago, and had been craving some of the great sushi/tempura of Japan. We were greeted in the same manner as we were in Japan, quickly shown to a table. The staff took our order quickly, refilled our water regularly, and even provided some instruction on how to eat one of our dishes! Restaurant was very clean and the food was very good. A bit pricey, but that comes with the territory of good fish away from the coast.

Super expensive for average sushi and mediocre service. Decided to give this place a second chance, but I ended up standing by the front door for 10 minutes while 3 servers continued to walk past me without a saying word to acknowledge me. The restaurant wasn't even at full capacity, I ended up walking out the door.

Great place, Awesome food and quiet atmosphere. Love lunch box, dinner seafood pot, and BBQ yellow tail. This is one of Japanese spot for me in Calgary.

First time at Sushi Hiro for a client lunch. What a great spot. Yoshi served us at the bar and we had a great time, food was great and the ambiance was perfect. Looking forward to going back.
