If you're starting in any sport, this is a great place to buy some used equipment in good shape. I bought my skis, poles, and boots there and cannot complain with the prices that I paid nor the quality of the equipment. Super friendly staff, and they do rentals and season leases as well.
I was there for 15 min and I can tell you that they have terrible costumer service, the girl upstairs in charge of the snowboards was very rude, she didn’t tell me any options for my problem. They don’t have any boards over 157cm, no bindings for the burton channel, two pair of boots of each size, etc., so if you are 5’10 or taller don’t waste your time!
Sport Junkies is the best!!! I got a pair of used Gore-Tex mountaineering boots for only $90. They would have been around $300 new. My feet have never been so warm and dry!
The also have a great selection of new sports and ski gear.
Lots of different varieties of clothes and shoes but a more limited selection of sizes just because they're a discount store.
Definitely worth a visit if you like a bargain!
Heaven for people with a lower budget that still want to get out and do some sports. The best is that within the low budget you still have a decent price variety, from super cheap to a higher end that is still affordable. If I lived in Vancouver, I'd shop here often.
As a biker, I check in on sport junkies and compare prices with MEC, usually for bike accessories and parts. Sports junkies often has good prices, but their store is very cluttered and is packed to the brim with merchandise. You can find amazing deals here, and staff have always been friendly.
Great to buy bikes and bike gear. As well as second hand sports clothes and you can also rent skis and snowshoes
Great friendly service and product sales done with knowledge & integrity! Bob in the bike department helped select a great new bike for 10 year old son. He was a enthusiastic communicator that shared how/what he was doing while he fitted the bike for our son. They also offer a great post-sale service/tune-up/warranty program that adds value to our investment.
There were many options at the shop (they have crazy inventory of old & new products) and I feel they did a great job asking the right questions to determine our needs and presenting options to make a painless and enjoyable experience getting our son his new bike.
This bike store is terrible. They won't give you a return on anything-ever-even if you just bought it. Their customer service is bad and honestly, you can find better prices online.
Lack of Business Ethics, Communication, Rude Manager!
I went in to buy a bike, they do have a huge selection upstairs and the prices are reasonable, however what I found quite surprising was the lack of business ethics in the manager and the lack of communication between the manager and the employees.
I had just done a test ride a road bike, and asked the employee that I really like this one but would like to try just one more before I make a decision. The employee specifically mentioned to me that you can try another one and we will not sell the other bike to another customer in the meantime and HE ALSO TOLD THIS TO THE STORE MANAGER. However, when I was in the middle of my conversation with the employee about the other bike I was interested to try, the manager shouted to the employee saying that he has sold the first bike I had tried and is no longer available. I have tried on bikes at other location and this has never happened, and above all the manager didn't have the courtesy to apologize or explain why he had done that. I hope this shop, which is indeed a great place to find good deals on sports gear, is able to improve their customer service at some point and get rid of such managers.
Very very helpful staff. Decent selection of used and new sports equipment.
We bought a used youth bike, had a used youth bike fixed, and sold them a couple of our used youth bikes. We found them to be quite helpful, well equipped, and fairly priced in all these bike services. The parking right behind the center was quite convenient as well.
Staff doesn't care about their customers. Store is messy but has lots of stuff around. You will get what you need but you will have to dig deep because shop is small and they have whole load of stuff.
Consignment sporting goods. Occasionally you find a good deal! They have a decent selection of bikes out, especially in the warmer months. They have a decent selection of ski equipment. They have some outdoor clothing (rain gear, etc) and camping gear as well, though I've found the selection of tents to be rather lacking, and the quality to be fair at best.
Good selection of new and used goods. Staff are good, but could have more staff working. They seem super busy all the time which must be hard on them.
