Stayed in the moon room. Excellent, caring staff. Clean, well appointed room.
5 STAR SERVICE !!! started prior to our check in. Had some issues trying to rebook for a family room with the online booking agency. Called the hotel directly and spoke with RICK !!! He immediately delt with our rebooking and even called me back a few days prior to our reservation to tell me our online booking was still showing up and the cancellation had not gone thru. Rick was able to provide me with a contact number at the online service as well a reservation code to refer to. He said if the online company had any issue on cancelling for free, to have them call him directly. He was able to deal with them and cancelled the online at no charge for us.
The hotel is comfortable, well located for events downtown and serves a decent inhouse made continental breakfast. We stayed for three nights and were well looked after.
Really enjoyed skwachay’s - off-beat and quaint, with great interior design. Don’t be thrown off by the facade! It’s a lovely spot.
The room was very clean and decorated very well. Down falls were the air conditioning in the room was very noisy (which I was able to turn off at the fuse box) and I think customer service could be better. We arrived at midday exhausted after a 23 hour flight and our room was not ready. We asked the staff to ring us as soon as our rooms were ready but they forgot to do it. We eventually rang them back at 3pm for them to then advise us that all rooms were now ready.
Authentic rooms each with an own flavour. Free breakfast and coffee tea in their lounge. Parking available. Central location in a neighbourhood that is on the verge of becoming hip and happening.
Beautiful Lodge. Love the neighbourhood, so close to so much cool stuff in the area. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Total bonus was the free breakfast which was served in the lounge We didn't even know we were getting a free breakfast.
The staff was nice and helpful. Check in was pretty easy except for the mix up of our room. We stayed in the moonlight room which was very nice, clean and unique . the location of the hotel would be it's only down fall. There were many homeless people hanging around and the shops around the area were ok mostly small mom and pa type stores. It's right next to Chinatown and just a short walk to Rogers arena. You do have to take the sky train to the main shopping district which is just one stop away and easy to use. Overall loved the hotel and service there, just the location is a big down fall unfortunately.
Little gem in central location. This tiny hotel seems to be a small part of a residential apartment building (a couple of dedicated floors in one wing of the apartment building), in close walking distance from Gastown and Chinatown. Very clean and well appointed rooms with really neat decor that's consistent throughout the hotel and goes along with the native art gallery hosted in the lobby. Delicious continental breakfast and very welcoming staff, secure parking underground.
This is the only place I stay at when I'm in Vancouver. Each room is custom decorated and painted by artists. The rooms are beautiful and really comfortable. It's close to all the best places to visit in Vancouver and right in historic Gastown. The bonus: the money from hotels is used to support up and coming artists. This is simply amazing.
Stayed here while in town for one night and had an excellent experience. The entire staff were extremely friendly and professional, especially Andrew at the front desk. Room was clean and modern with super neat First Nation's artwork, not to mention the gallery downstairs in the lobby which was filled with tons of cool carvings, paintings, and more. Wifi worked well and the facilities were very clean and well kept. No complaints whatsoever
We loved our stay here! It was in the perfect location for all the Gastown and Chinatown eats/drinks we wanted to visit. We really liked the boutique feel of the place and the aboriginal décor within the room. The bed was really comfortable; we didn’t want to leave the room! Staff was super friendly and helpful.
We had no problems with the neighborhood – I think a few streets over (toward Chinatown/E Hastings St) it can feel a little dicey especially at night, but nothing directly by the hotel as we read in other reviews. As with any big city, you should pay attention and be street savvy.
Parking is a great price and super secure. When you arrive to check in, if you don’t find a spot directly in front, they do have 2 short term spots by the alley entrance.
We hope to stay again!
Super cute hotel, staff is all very friendly and helpful. Every room is decorated with a different theme so the experience is very unique. Definitely a welcome departure from your typical chain hotel.
Complaints:
- The main heater in my room was broken in my room but there was an electric heater fan so it was still okay. Management offered to move me to another room but my schedule was pretty tight so I decided to skip on the offer.
- I got shocked so many times by my door handle and the elevator switch. It might just be because I'm from a more humid area so I'm not as careful about avoiding static build up though.
- Not so much a complaint as something to take note of: their front desk isn't open 24 hours so you have to call the one security guard on duty if you need help between 11pm and 7am.
