Food was great our first visit in June for my husband and I. We enjoyed it very much. Second visit October 14th for diner, 3 out of 4 meals were not good. Service was a bit slow and we felt that attention was lacking. Definitely disappointed with this visit compared to our first.
On the back of their dessert menu there is a long winded rant demanding "customer etiquette".
They basically state that your not allowed to look at a mobile phone while in their restaurant, that food allergies are just made up to get free food and that children are not welcome.
They believe that most customers are jerks and need lessons on how be polite.
Go there if you like mediocre food and poor service by staff that think they're better than you before you've even sat down.
Friendly and approachable staff. Food was fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced especially considering the large portions. Highly recommended if you're looking to get away from greasy spoon joints in the area.
Stopped for lunch on the way to camping at Pinery! Although we went by the high ratings on google, this place still exceeded all my expectations. Service was great. The food was excellent. Ordered a chicken pot pie. It was probably one of the best pot pies I've tasted. It went down well with a cold beer and good company. I would definitely stop by here again whenever I'm in Grand Bend next. 😀
Cute restaurant, friendly server, delicious food but the scolding rant against customers that they have written on the back of the dessert menu on each table is a obnoxious. In our case, it took away from an otherwise good experience.
The food was above average for sure, but the staff and servers were not friendly at all. We didn't feel welcomed when and after we arrived at the restaurant. Therefore, I give zero to the table service part of this review.
Also, the tables were super tiny that I our dishes barely fit on it.
First, the positives.
We were seated immediately.
Our server was very friendly.
The food was delicious!
Now, the negatives.
We waited 17 minutes for our server to attend our table.
She apologized for the wait upon her arrival.
We placed our order (as we had plenty of time to decide what we wanted!): a bottle of wine and two entrees.
We waited another 9 minutes before having ask again for the bottle of wine.
It was brought to us, and again she apologized for the wait.
While waiting for our meals (the wait time on this was not an issue), we read the note on the table. We found it to be inappropriate.
All in all, would we go back? Yes, as the food was fantastic, but at least now we know not to have high expectations on quality of service.
Amazing Ambiance and great service We went for Lunch. Food tastes fresh and the plates are presented very well. The food is tasty. Perhaps the portions could be a bit more generous? my 2 cents I will be be back
We walked in as a family of 4. My 2 daughters - 10 and 13- were in a local dance competition and we heard this was a decent place for lunch. The restaurant was about half full. When we asked for a table, the woman at the hostess stand took a look at my kids, who were in makeup and wearing their team jackets, and said "I won't be able to give you a table". She did not say "we are full" or "it's about a 20 minute wait" or anything like that. What she meant was that was we were not the clientele that they wanted. If I could give this place negative stars I would.
