  Love seeing concerts at the Bess Gardens. Nothing can beat the sound quality and ambiance! However, would like to see a few improvements.
  
  
  
  I do have an issue with the food service. I understand that people are there for a show and not to eat so options are limited. I find it ridiculous that a basic cheeseburger is $8!! If you are going to charge that much it would be nice if the buns weren't ice cold and a few more condiments available (no mayo, relish, pickles???). Also, while its great to see the food servers wear gloves, it was awful to see them grab tickets out of people's germy hands and then prep the food. Could they not have one person just take tickets??
  
  
  
  Also, more lighting should be available near the exits and upper deck area. People were constantly tripping and falling over the big hump of electrical cords. Quite dangerous in a crowd.

  Last night I attended the lauryn hill show. My sister and I took the afternoon off work and drove up from Regina then excitedly arrived at 6:00 to reserve a spot at the front of the stage, we remained in that spot through the pouring rain just so we could have a good spot for the concert. When the concert finally began at 9 her DJ played for over 45 minutes before she even entered the stage. When she finally entered the stage that is when all the drunk young girls decided that it was OK to push their way to the front. Fights started breaking out all over the place. Lauryn Hill herself stopped her show to tell people to stop fighting and it wasn't until then that security finally came over to break up the fight. Then while we were standing at the front a very drunk girl came up to my sister and tried to push her out of the way to take her spot at the front. When my sister told her go away she started to pull her hair and push her to the ground and it all happened right in front of security and the security guard did absolutely nothing. It was the crowd around us that got the girl to leave. Which was absolutely brutal. We are way too old for that crap and came to enjoy good music and not be attacked. Why have security if they aren't going to do anything about it. Then to top it all off Lauryn was only on for a little over an hour I will never come back to that poorly run show again.

  I love JazzI love music. I enjoy the free stage by river landing most years and im sure the smaller venue shows are good but after paying to go the Bez Garxens main stage one year (One of the times Lauryn Hill was here), i will never do it again. I wish the big money for the main stage was spent in better ways. This year i have no desire to pay money to see anything booked there.seems like alot of the same artists being brought back over and over and over

  I've been lucky to have performed at Jazz Festivals from Montreux to Montreal and it is so great to have our very own world class festival right here in Saskatchewan! Looking forward to another amazing 10 days of incredible music!

  One of the best music venues that brings people in from around the continent and even awesome musicians from Cuba as well as other places year after year. It is what summer in the city is all about. So blessed to meet so many of the same people year after year that brings a sense of community.

  For a jazz festival you didn't seem to have very many big jazz acts. I understand pop music fills seats and venues, but if you're going to have a jazz festival, shouldn't you have some major jazz acts? Feist is great but she's no jazz act.

  Incredible festival. So many hard working people making sure they bring quality music to the Saskatoon scene. The festival is diverse so that everyone can enjoy. The river city comes to life during this time. ❤️

  I haven't been to the Jazz Festival in a couple of years now, but after hitting a few free shows this week it looks like I haven't missed much. I think it's time to rename this event. I went to 3 free outdoor concerts, and none of them had a sniff of jazz. Tonight's (Friday) was some band from Vancouver playing Asian music. Packed with teens of course, but nothing jazzy about it. I went home.
  
  
  
  But look at the overall lineup, all great artists in their own right: Lauryn Hill - hip hop artist; Oral Fuentes - reggae; Phoenex Lauren - who knows, but it wasn't jazz; John Legend - hip hop soul/R&B; Reuben and the Dark - emotive folk; the list goes on and on. Let's stop pretending this is a jazz festival and admit that it's morphed into something else. We could just call it : The Whatever Draws A Bigger Crowd Festival. That way we jazz enthusiasts can just stay home and stop returning from the event disappointed.

  Box office not open on Saturday and closes too early during the week. Perhaps limited hours on Saturday and open/close later on weekdays for people who might want to pay cash or debit.

  Top notch event. The official start of summer in Saskatoon. Some great venue shows but some of the best are the free stage shows. Amazing talent and tonnes of friendly volunteers.

  Watched the Lee Fields show at the Capitol Music Club! What a blast! He put on an amazing show! The place was packed and everyone was in good spirits! What a great venue and unreal talented musicians!!!!!! :) :) thanks Jazz fest!!!
