This hostel is one of my worst experiences in Canada. The staff is very unfriendly and it was very loud in the evenings because of the staff who was partying! Official "quiet time" was 10 pm for the guests and it is rude of the staff to be that loud even after 10 pm! The equipment in the kitchen is also not good. Staff almost never works. Front desk hours are very short and there is also a lunchbreak so the front desk isn't open during lunch time. You have to push a button to let a front desk agent come. cannot recommend it.

Kitchen supplies have seen better days relative to other hostels I've been to, but otherwise the place is reasonably clean and comfortable.

I read the last google review and almost didnt come to stay here! I guess you always get one person who just because of their mood, will have a bad experience no matter what. Safe to say the reality was quite different. The hostel has recently been taken over & renovated and no longer Samesun from what I gather. There's actually 3 common room areas and I think the previous reviewer was referring to the small kitchen at the end of the hall where the male dorm is. Around the other side is a huge kitchen / lounge area where you can hang out. Staff were really friendly and let me hang in the hostel during the day after check out (without charge) which I really appreciated as I was stuck waiting for my car to be fixed at the local garage. You can also ask for a free pass for the local swimming pool which is great. My only complaint was that the rooms can be a little hot and was a little unpleasant- but that shouldnt be an issue going into winter. Otherwise it's a cool hostel and a good vibe and I enjoyed my stay.

Nice, friendly service and excellent food made from quality ingredients. The swedish barista is likely the best in town. Plan for a long wait during peak weekend times and be prepared to deal with some wasps if seated outside.

I stayed there for one night. Note that if you arrive after 10 PM, then you have to wait until 8 AM the next morning until you can pay and check out, since the office only opens then.
Apart from the good location, this hostel was my worst experience so far in Canada. Kitchen was dirty, there was only one washroom per ca. 10 people, rooms were small, stuffy and extremely hot even during the night. They use a loud fan in order to cool them down just a little bit.
The two things a hostel should provide are clearly not met: 1. A clean place to sleep and 2. a quiet place to sleep (at least in the bedrooms). I've slept in 40-bed bedrooms that were a hundred times quieter than my 4-bedroom there.
People were up until 4 AM running around on the floors, yelling and knocking against doors in order to ask for weed and alcohol. No social room except from the kitchen which is right next to the doors. I barely slept 2 hours, the staff apparently didn't care (picture shows the morning after at 7, no place where you want to have some breakfast). If you are looking for a quiet place to stay overnight, invest the money and go somewhere else. Never again.

Staff are friendly and they're currently doing renovations, so it will be improved soon. The location is ideal, close to the supermarket and restaurants.

I've stayed here on 2 separate occasions and had no problems either time. Some minor things that would bump this hostel to a 5 star rating are screens on the windows (Revelstoke has big mosquitoes in the summer and it's quite warm at night!), softer mattresses, fluffier pillows, more table space in rooms, and outlets by both top and bottom bunks. The staff did happily provide an extra pillow when I asked.Overall a good hostel, I definitely recommend it.

Rooms where nice, but the kitchen is really small. Common areas are supposed to open at eight but we had to finally find someone at 8:45 to ask to be let in.

A reasonable choice for budget accommodation. Good for groups, although quiet hour is at 11; only steps from bars/clubs and accommodation is relatively cheap. The hostel could use some cleaning up, but you get what you pay for.

It is acceptable but pretty bare bones. Kitchens on each floor.

While the bathrooms were clean, the room itself was not. I don't think the floor had been vacuumed in a very long time. Lockers were very small as was the room, but from the looks of it we got the crappy room. You might get lucky and get a good one or might not. There was barely enough space for two people to moving around the room at the same time. Heaven forbid if all four people were needing to be in the room at the same time.

This is one of my least favorite hostels. Staff is far from helpful and slack on cleaning the place often. Usually starts out good at the start of the season and slowly deteriorates as the season progresses.
