Only accept books on Tues - Saturday. They don't bother to tell you this on their website. So after lugging 2 big boxes of books to them on a Sunday I was turned away. They also have 2 different opening hours listed on their website.
I won't be going back.

Went in to sell some books, the lady was extremely kind and polite about the books she wasn't interested in, and paid decently for the books she wanted. The store has tonnes of selection, would highly recommend buying from or selling to Rivendell books. The poor lady was super apologetic about the books she wouldn't take, seems like people are rude often (retail), so if you go there to sell, be polite because she doesn't have to buy your stuff. Highly recommended.

I went here for the first time today and its such a great book store! So homey and with so much selection! Atmosphere is great and the prices even better. Had a delightful chat with the woman at the cash register and she was so knowledgeable and friendly! I've found my new favourite bookstore! 😁

Rivendell Books is a fantastic book store. They have a tremendous selection of used books from all genres. Wendy and her team are very friendly and they will also help you find a title you are looking for, if they do not have it. One great thing to note, is that you can return a book that you have read for 50% credit toward a new one. What an amazing idea. Wendy also informed me that they donate books to various charities and organizations. Make sure to drop in. It is well worth a visit.

Dropped off 400 books. Waited 2 weeks for them to call me back. They never called so I called them. Was informed that they took the wrong # down after I told the inept staff #times my #. Then was told they only needed a couple of the books and would give me $6.oo I said i would pick them up and they said I cant they were given away. Then told I said they could be donated. (which I did once they called me to confirm price.) so basically this place is a scam. Don't donate books or trust the owner or the staff. if I could give lower than 1 i would.
