2018 was a year for evolution and change in terms of construction in our country. While the future may present challenges, we will continue to work toward a brighter and solid tomorrow for our members.

On Friday, November 30, members and staff officially started the holiday season at OE987’s annual Christmas Open House.
Not only did we give away a grand prize of Winnipeg Jets tickets, but we also had the opportunity to award bursaries to winning recipients.

⚠️ HEADS UP for all crane operators!
Cold temperatures can have a big impact on overhead cranes. Extreme cold weather could reduce the crane’s tensile strength and weaken its overhead hydraulic system, which means that if the temperature is colder than -28C, you should reduce your load weight by 40% to work in safer conditions.
You should also:
• Surround your trolley with an enclosed track to protect it from ice • Use conductor bars to protect the crane’s joints
