Has something for everyone! Plus the goats on the roof are super cool and kids will love them! Amazing food and a very friendly atmosphere. A definite must see if you are traveling on the island!

Such a neat market with a wide selection of things. Local bakery in store with fresh breads and desserts as well as an in-store cafeteria. The market itself has local foods as well as international treats. There is also a gift shop section with toys, kitchen ware, garden decorations and more. If you go during the right season there are also goats on the roof of the whole market and an outside patio that you can sit and eat while watching them. We went mid November when it was raining and didn't see any but the market was worth it either way!

I wouldn't put it as a place to go alone, but a cool tourist trap.. meaning there's stuff to see, eat and buy as you drive thru to your destination. Neat rustic market and food inside with goats on roof. There's also a little farmers market and some shops selling little souvenirs and rugs, etc. The Italian resultant in the back was amazing.

Best loaded poutine I've ever had. I've been here 3 days in a row just to sit and have a tea and a couple of treats and watch the goats eat the roof! I find it charming. It's also very busy and you will have no trouble spending your money here for quality food!

Greed took over, and they got rid of all the charm, and uniqueness of the place. Basically it is a generic mall with a goat on the roof. There use to be some some great shops. Gone. Now you can buy a pair $49 ugly earrings at this new mausoleum looking shop. . I tried to ask a guy stocking shelves where the old jewelry store went that had beautiful, inexpensive pieces. . He didn't even look at me. Just said, "I don't know" Keep on stocking the shelves. I won't be back.

Pros:
Goats on the roof.
Neat selection of unique toys.
Cons: lunch. Swarmed by wasps outside. Flavorless dry fries neither one of us could eat. Flavorless beef burger that appeared to be from frozen, I ate under half and left the rest. Extremely overpriced especially for the quality. Husbands chicken was good but I would not recommend the beef burgers or fries
Conclusions: highly over rated tourist attraction. But cool goats.response / report this review -

It was an interesting and fun place to visit! This place is famous for its Goats on the Roof with green grass. The market has a bakery, a deli and sells all sorts of cultural groceries. You can find some unique crafts and creative ornaments here. If you are hungry, you can stay and enjoy a good meal with your friends and family at their cafe. The market is next to a well decorated meeting square full of adorable animal stone statues. Your kids will love to be there! I especially love the three giant Buddha statues standing tall in the square. We go there quite often to just sit and have a cup of coffee or eat ice cream.

We love Coombs Old Country Market. The market, the produce, the ice cream and the donuts are all fantastic. The restaurant on the other hand is the reason I am leaving 4 stars and not 5.
If I could rate the restaurant only, I would give it 1 star.
The biggest problem is that the food in the restaurant is terrible. We ate there tonight and it was awful, most of our food went straight in the trash. We have had a similar experience before - the food has never been good, but for some reason we tried again. Stupid of us to do the same thing but expect different results. Almost asked for our money back, but life is too short.
It is a shame that the restaurant is so terrible. The bakery is phenomenal, and rest of the entire market is fantastic, interesting, and fun.
A couple of years ago we ate at the restaurant. My wife and I were going to just share an order. She asked for a second plate and they tried to charge us for it! For an empty plate! Not a chance, we just ate off the same plate.
We will visit the market lots in the future, but the restaurant will not see another dime.response / report this review -

A very cool place to visit in Coombs. They have goats on the roof! The selection in the market is pretty good but the highlight are the goats on the roof.

If the cute goats aren't reason enough to stop, the bakery is! So many yummy things. The hardest part was choosing. The Apple Galette was delicious! And the Goat Gruff bar was like a peanut butter nanaimo bar. So good!

Well worth the stop, even if it's busy (which it will be) amazingly varied selection of market goods - international and local - if you can't find it here, you don't really need it! Aside from the food store, and, of course, Goats on the Roof, there is ice cream, fresh veggies and fruit, surf and outdoor shop enough to keep you busy for a few hours. Shop and eat on your travels - you'll enjoy this great stop.

I love this place. The market has a great selection of local food as well as imported rarities from several countries.
Everyone on the island makes a pilgrimage to the Old Country Market yearly.
It's just one of those things that's become a staple.
Must see. Must experience.
Summer is best, but shoulder seasons are still great!response / report this review
