Mengrai is our favourite Thai restaurant in the city. The service is friendly and attentive, and the owner is always welcoming and gracious. The pineapple fried rice is amazing, as is the morning glory appetizer of squash blossoms. Every curry we've had is delicious - I could rave on about the menu but you really should just go and enjoy a great night out with exceptional food!

Excellent hidden gem

Food was fantastic. The hollowed out coconut (soup) appetizer was the highlight with an excellent pad thai and red curry to follow. Off the beaten path, but worth the trip. The waiters and owner were all extremely nice, service was great.

Menu layout needs a bit of work, it is hard to decipher quickly.

Our first time here was one for the books. To start, the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and were always smiling. We brought our own wine, but the wine list looked great. We started with the mango salad which was exceptional, and a great portion for two people. For our entrees we ordered the pineapple fried rice, pad Thai, and the crispy tofu. While each dish was outstanding, I had a hard time thinking of anything I've eaten that was better than the crispy tofu dish. The sauce was complex and flavourful, the tofu had perfect texture, and the vegetables were fresh and bountiful. Pineapple cheesecake to finish was the cherry on top. 100% the best Thai food we've ever had, and is up there with the best meals we've had dining out. The bill came in under $100 with the corking fee and tax, and we each had another meal with all of the leftovers. I must say I'm sorry I haven't come sooner.

A special thanks to the family behind Mengrai Thai- Brandon, Allen and Sasi are gracious hosts. They make their delicious food with imported goods straight from Thailand. If you're looking for an amazing and tasty Thai experience, I would highly recommend trying them! Thank you Mengrai Thai and see you again soon!

I have been eating here for 4 years regularly. I love it here. Its the best Thai in town and the staff are the best. We had my mothers 65th birthday there with 25 people and they did an amazing job cooking and serving us all. If you have not tried this spot, get there!

Very good food. The green curry and the snapper was amazing. The service was great - above and beyond. I went with my whole office for a lunch out, it was an amazing experience. The price is really fair. Definitely recommend it.

Fantastic catering! Food was fantastic. Great price. Generous portions. Packaged with serving spoons. Wonderful accommodation of food allergies. They provided a separate bag with dishes made specifically for one individual in our party with an egg, yeast, and dairy allergy. She was ecstatic that she was able to join in the meal! Very accommodating on price point and working within your budget to give you the best possible options and the most food. Don't think twice about getting an event catered by Mengrai Thai it was a lovely experience and fantastic food!

Food is very tasty and well prepared. Fresh ingredients and generous portions. Nice ambient with a cool decoration. I tried the crispy beef with cashew sauce delicious.
Bonus: 15% discount on your bill if you pay by cash. I really appreciated when they gave us 2 bills. Option to pay by card and by cash,
I think every restaurant should do the same.
Good for them good for the customer.

Absolutely the best place to go for a big group or for an intimate dinner.

This is hands down the best Thai Place in Ontario. Good food, good service, good wine list(important for me) and great atmosphere.

If you haven't gone, you have to.

Food is really great. Classic Thai dishes mixed with interesting unique options. Sasi's #54 is a must!
Lunch service can be a bit slow, but have always had good service experience at dinner time.
Menu is very busy and hard to understand. This is admittedly a strange comment, but it's actually a bit of a pain to use.

We had a party of 20, the private room was cozy, it even had a record player that played music! The food was tasty and the server we had (Adam) was amazing! Definitely will come back!
