I went here to get chocolates for some family members. The store is really lovely, the woman who greeted me was very kind, and the chocolates look beautiful and according to my family, taste great. However- the woman I asked to help me pick the chocolates for the boxes wasn't helpful.
When I asked if I could pick the chocolates to go in my box, she said yes but told me there were also pre-packaged ones. She seemed annoyed that I wanted to customize my box and didn't offer any help or recommendations, which sucks because I had never been here before and don't know the flavours. I even asked the person I was with for recommendations, but the employee never chimed in or said anything the whole time. It was a bit disappointing as I saved up to be able to afford these gifts for my family, and was really hoping I'd be able to get some help choosing the best flavours for my loved ones.
A couple came in after me though and were also choosing chocolates, and the woman helping them was extremely helpful and informative, so I guess it just depends on who helps you out. I will admit, I felt a bit judged by the woman who was assisting me, but that might just be due to the fact that I'm younger and was dressed very casually.
I've definitely had worse customer service experiences at other expensive chocolatiers but was hoping to have a good experience here. I typically don't mind if customer service isn't great, I work customer service and we all have our off days. But when I'm spending a lot of money on a gift, I'd really appreciate recommendations and don't want to feel rushed/judged. I'm hoping this was a one-off thing and will still be willing to try getting gifts from here in the future, but I am hesitant about how that experience will be.
Great customer service. A large variety of different flavours, shapes and taste. It’s pretty fun to go and choose your chocolate. Nice package for mother’s day gift. The seller was super nice and helpful. She patiently explained everything for us and give us some info about each chocolate we chose. I recommend trying their products.
Bought their chocolates before but never visited the Chocolate factory. Staff was terrific and made three signature boxes on the spot.
Each piece of chocolate is like a piece of art in it's design. This is superior to Purdy's a million times.
For all the fanfare and people going on about this place there wasn’t a soul in the place when we visited save one clerk who didn’t even acknowledge my wife who was in the store trying to buy Omiyage gifts to bring back to Japan for her family and friends, half an hour and not even a “can I help you?” nothing it’s nice to know racism is alive and well in Calgary!
After finishing my phone call outside I came into the store to see how she had progressed to find my wife upset, I tried to get the clerks attention but she skillfully ignored us so we went next door and bought approximately $250 worth of Godiva chocolates since the Master Chocolate factory obviously didn’t need or want our business. Pretty sad especially in this economy, pretty pitiful service (or lack there of)
I expected much better.
The place is clean, huge and modern looking and the chocolate seems to be of good quality not that we were able to buy any for friends and family.
An extremely disappointing experience yesterday afternoon.
Amazing collection of chocolate made with natural and organic ingredients! Custom chocolate bars made by Bernard himself are an amazing treat for the whole family!
