Manoir Hovey has the ambiance and intimacy of a bed and breakfast with the service and professionalism of a 5-star resort. My wife and I came here looking for a great weekend to escape the daily grind of life and work and and we found that and more at Manoir Hovey.

The service: The first thing that I noticed was that every member knew our name as soon as we walked in the door and worked to make us feel special. Every night we were left personalized messages from the concierge with information for the next day as well as suggestions on things to do in the beautiful areas surrounding Manoir Hovey.

The Room and facility: Our room had a gorgeous view of the lake, original wood floors, and a gas fireplace that was on a timer. We were here during the off season but got the feeling that the place had something to offer in every season. The facility has a pool, tennis court, a chef’s garden and even a teepee where you could drink hot cocoa in the winter. We spent the majority of our time having tea and playing chess in the library by the wood burning fireplace. There were also fire pits lit outside where you could enjoy drinks.

The Food: The food was French cuisine and extremely fresh and flavorful. The meals were vegetable and fruit centric which were perfectly balanced (the food either came from the chef’s garden or local farms in the area). The restaurant service and ambiance were amazing! Again with attention to detail, our main server noticed my wife was pregnant and took the liberty of taking the raw ingredients out of her dishes. He also had excellent wine recommendations.

We stayed here three nights and ate dinner here each night. By the third night the menu seemed to be small so if you come here for a long period of time save some nights to eat in the towns that surround the area.

Do I think it was worth it? Yes. The price for the stay may seem a little expensive but the service, quality of the room, and location more than make up for the cost. We bought the package that included breakfast and dinner and threw in some extra’s such as the tea and scones. I do think that if I came in the off season again I would allow more time to see other areas such as Montreal or Quebec City. I’d highly recommend Manoir Hovey if you’re looking for a relaxing get away.

Every time my father visits, we go to manoir Hovey for lunch or brunch, depending on Saturday or Sunday respectively. The place is absolutely beautiful, with stellar service and unbelievable food. Everything about it feels 5 stars, but quaint and intimate. I look forward to his next visit so we go back. 7 years, and counting.

Disappointing. Our expectation for a 5 star resort wasnt met. The outdoor pool wasn't warm enough to enjoy a swim. Given there is no indoor pool they should at least pump up the temperature of the pool and have a hot tub.
The meals were expensive and truly not memorable. For the price of the room that we paid we expected a better kept establishment. Our air conditioner didn't work for 2 days. The buildings required work and upkeep. The staff was standoffish. The bed was rock hard and not comfortable.

Lovely atmosphere, great views! The staff is very courteous and helpful. The food is wonderful. Rooms are pretty, very clean. However, the lights tend to flicker every minute or so. That can get annoying. Went to Hovey for a wedding, and I highly recommend it!

The location is a little tough to get to, really off the beaten path. It's location, however, is lovely right off the local lake. The rooms are very old style classic in feel, much like an old mansion. The staff are extremely pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are generous. My room had a fireplace that more than adequately warmed the room, and the bed was very comfortable. The view outside of the hulls and landscape are wonderful and peaceful. This is very much a place to relax and enjoy nature. They have a French restaurant on site, and the food was excellent. It is pricey, no doubt, but the entire experience was stellar.

Great place, great view, great food, great rooms, great service, great prices. You get what you pay for!

Parking space open to visitors, however it is limited and parking is often crowded. Be careful when driving down the entrance and driveways; they are narrow.

The event organizer is a pleasure to work with.
