I would like to respond to the comment you made regarding my employer. She did not put me down in anyway and I definitely did not feel berated at all.

I was charged $12.60 for a kids pasta which was 30 penne noodles with butter and a slice of very hard garlic bread. My daughter did not eat it all and if I would have known the ridiculous price ahead of time I’m sure I would have taken it home. Or maybe not ordered it.
The Pizza was okay but I’ve had better at worst places.

The only good thing about my experience was the great service from the really nice waiter who suggested I take a look around at the connecting store for some Xmas presents or even the truffle oil that I had on my pizza. I did as suggested and decided to pick up a bag of homemade pasta.

I went to the restaurant till to pay for it all where the owner berated the waiter in front of me because purchasing the bag of pasta thru the restaurant till throws her inventory off. I offered to pay seperately on the other side but she said not to worry..and continued to quietly berate him. Poor guy.

I will never go back nor suggest this place. If you want good pizza in Fort Langley then head to Jim’s Pizza! They also serve pasta!

I'm not a person who goes out often and rarely would feel impelled to write a review. My sister was celebrating her wedding tonight( October 29/17) . There were approx. 25-30 people celebrating & only one order was unacceptable.(shrimp was nasty).we conveyed this to our server & upon return she said there's nothing wrong with it. We debated that and hoped that a meal replacement would resolve the issue . NOT. A new meal was ordered ( the same one two others had beside and across from me)/ This order did not contain shrimp!! Period! guess what? the new order actually had shrimp( the same shrimp) mixed in the pasta. We then attempted to speak with management and the gal who represented herself to be the 'boss' was argumentative and cut us off verbally , was unwilling to listen to our complaint and after saying I thought she's crazy because she's going to lose a lot of customers ..she, could care less if all 25-30 of us ever came back. So, in totality, this restaurant cared more about $20 on a $800.00 tab.!!! really??

What can you say, this place got great food, generous portions, best tiramisu I've ever had and live music! We were impressed by their wood pizza oven and friendly service even though it was a bit over priced. Just don't go there when the heat wave hits, they don't have ac.

I had the most amazing time at this beautiful authentic Italian restaurant. I'm so excited that little Fort Langley offers a little taste of Italy. I've traveled all over Italy and couldn't be more impressed by the food and service at Mangia e Scappa. I've been back multiple times. Make sure you ask for either Angie or Michelle as servers. This quaint beautiful Italian eatery can be quite busy, but remember great things come to those who wait. Amazing. Oh and the pizzas by Alana! 👌🏼

Don‘t know why the overall rating is so low. We‘ve always had good food here. Portion is generous. Pizza is outstanding - we especially like the funghi one.

Very authentic seeming Italian restaurant, may have a tough time figuring out the menu though! Pizza is very thin but I guess that's how it's supposed to be, but tasty. Not your usual toppings. Chicken Parmigiana was good but 2/3rds of it is breading. Pesto pasta was good.

Was there for a friend's birthday. There were a dozen of us but the food came out hot and faster than any of have expected. Pistachio penne was a hit and he calamari was the best I've had in lower mainland. Price seemed a little high but I had a great time. Definitely recommend the calamari!

Such a shamethey have good pizza and at first glance, the atmosphere is charming but the Owner does not provide a good experience. I left with a bad taste in my mouth this time and will likely not go back nor will I recommend this restaurant. I merely asked for some hot oil to put on my pizza - something fairly standard everywhere else. Originally, she tried to up-sell me on another type of topping but I declined. When I received my bill, there was a $3 charge for 3 teaspoons of oil - when I inquired about it, the Owner told me that it was extra because it was 'homemade'. I equate this to being charged extra for ketchup when you order fries. I have traveled extensively and eaten around the globe and rarely come across this type of pettiness in good restaurants. This just took away from my experience and the push back I felt from the Owner immediately turned me off of this restaurant and took away from what was otherwise a nice evening. Enough for me to write this unflattering review. When you are in this business, you do everything to provide a great customer experienceyou cannot afford not to.

Went on a Sunday and was greeted at the door and asked to take a seat. The waitress with the short brown bob cut hair was very attentive and said she only works here once a week. We tried the vesuvio pizza which was brick oven cooked and hand tossed as waited we saw pizza dough flying in the air behind the counter. The best part of the pizza was the cheese which you could tell was excellent pizza mozzarella. Afterwards we tried two desserts and they were pretty good for the price as they were made in house. We couldn't remember the names as they were Italian. Not a bad joint but the pizza were a tad bit expensive for what you get.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE OWNER!!! I wanted to buy some cured ham from their deli and the staff member who initially helped me was pleasant but the positives of the experience end there. The owner Julia (I believe) told me the product was $5.99 per 100 grams so I ordered some. When I got to the till I was told it was actually $8.99 per 100 grams. No offer to honour the quoted price so I just paid the amount asked. When I got out of the store I opened the ham and noticed a black hair covering several slices. I went back to the store and pointed it out to the owner. She said "that's funny, no one here has hair like that". No ownership of the problem or attempt to make it right. The owner did offer to refund my money but I stated I'd like the ham, just without the hair. I mentioned that it would have been good business practice to honour the price I was quoted when I agreed to buy the product, to which the owner said "what, you don't think it cost money to run this place?". Bothered by the denial that the hair could have some from her staff I asked if she was suggesting that it came from my family, who all have blond hair. At this point the owner said "you know what, I'd rather just give you your money back". With that sort of attitude I was no longer willing to support this business, took my money and left, but not before receiving some further attitude from the seemingly disgruntled owner. I will not be returning to this store, which is a shame as I like the products. For an owner to give that sort of attitude is inexcusable and just bad form.

Was there for Dine-Out Vancouver. Meal were fantastic and worth more than the $40/per price! Took along foodie relatives who claimed it the best tenderloin they'd ever eaten. All the sauces were incredible. The swordfish was juicy and and very unique tasty combination of flavours. And the desserts! I can't recall what any of our items were called (all italian names), but just big hits of flavour! The coffee was right on too. Our waitress was very helpful and chatty. All the courses were new to us, as I've not done much Italian outside of pastas and pizzas, and it was solid experience. Atmosphere was relaxed and easy for conversation.

It sounds like anybody who is disappointed with this place is expecting an American style overly stuffed pizza, well this place is the real deal when it comes to true Italian cuisine. They use an incredible Italian flour that doesn't make your stomach ache like a regular gluten-full crusts would. Quality and unique ingredients tastefully chosen. Loved every bite!
