Been eating at Lee Yuen since 1990 and have always enjoyed the flavor and quality of their food. Recently they are open for dim sum lunch. I recommended this venue for our ladies luncheon. The comments were very favorable from the group. I have always enjoyed their hot and sour soup plus the house chow mein which is with the soft noodles. Crispy noodles can be requested instead. Their main clientele is Asian and supper can be busy with wait times for a table.

Food was okay but the waitresses there are so unprofessional they come and demand for more tip even when they haven’t served u at all and if u refuse they will start shouting at you wonder what the management is doing about it

Not worth going back to. Pricey and dated. Short staffed. Waited quiet some time and have to get their attention to bring us the menu or tea. Food wasn't good. Can't really taste the flavor of each dish coz they all tasted the same.

Don't go, it's not worth your time or money.

Not a very good place to eat. Decor is very outdated and it seems like they never heard of customer service or a smile. Sone of then don't even speak english so explaining or even asking a simple question is such a pain.

When we entered, we were not even greeted properly. The waitress was chewing something when she was talking to us. Never checked on us, did not even bring water. We were not happy with the service at all, so we didn't want to leave a tip. But when we were leaving the guy at the counter ask if we wanted to leave a tip. Why would we even want to leave a tip for a crappy service?

The food is delicious. However, some of the waitresses need to go to study English. Once I ordered Shanghai buns but it was sold out; she told me: "don't have". I can't even, only 2 words for customers. Moreover, I saw a lot of MSG covered my food. Once again, the answer is that: "don't know". Is it too hard to answer with full sentence?

So we paid our bill and left whatever's left for change as tip. And this specific guy server told us that we're "short" on tip. Seriously? Who does that? So my dad got upset and decided to just take back the change. And then this guy server was YELLING "Do you want to leave a tip?" Repeatedly as we head out of the restaurant.

I suggest for this restaurant to include "service charge" on the bill instead of actually FORCING customers to leave tips when they're not contented with how much you give them. We got yelled at instead of getting a "Thank You".

Dimsum was delicious! The portions are big and the service is quick. Most items are large size which costs $5.75.

One of the few excellent dim sum restaurants in Surrey. Good food and reasonable price, parking could be a challenging thing though, there are parking spots in the rear.

Under new ownership. We've been going to this restaurant for 25 years and it has always been good until now. Now the food is terrible. The new owners have raised the prices and the food quality has gone downhill significantly. The place is dirty and the customer service is very rude. Sad.

I've been going to this restaurant for about 10 years now. They've changed ownership recently. The food is almost the same but it's almost not in a way. I still recommend this place. The cost is fair to a little more than fair. It's a good place to get fresh seafood in Surrey. The places always packed on the weekends reservations are a must for a party of four or more around dinner time.

My family and I are particularly picky when it comes to Chinese food so when tasked to find a decent place in Surrey, the skepticism was high. It's your typical hole in the wall restaurant that offers really decent Chinese. The jalapeño salt spare ribs and lettuce wraps are the highlight dishes for me.

My family and I found this place years ago when we moved to surrey and we haven't looked back since. Our local go to for family dinners and special occasions.

The dim sum here is pretty good, the service is kind of slow but that's understandable seeing as how popular they are.

Came here on a Friday to try out Lee Yuen's dim sum offerings for lunch. I found quite a decent selection of my favourite dim sum available. Overall I think the food was OK in general, not spectacular but also not bad for a seemingly out-of-place restaurant (it's in its own little plaza in the middle of a major street surrounded by residential areas). The quality of the steamed dim sum left a little bit to desire for, especially the har gow / shrimp dumplings, which promptly fell apart when I picked them up from the steamer. Price was decent though, as our group of 6 left quite filled after spending only ~$10 each. You definitely won't get Richmond/Vancouver Chinese seafood restaurant quality dim sum here, but it is an option if you're in the middle of Surrey and craving some authentic Chinese food for a good price.

This place is my secret addiction, it's candy in my mouth. Value for Price. Service is awesome and people work hard. I am born and raised down the road and for over 30 years and am lucky I have been able to enjoy for so long. Once in a blue moon it's possible to have a bad experience if there are vacations or someone new is joining the team that aren't at the same experience level, but that is the business world. I went to other places and they gave me problems for which I would never in a million years go back there, I have never had that with Lee Yuen. For those who really feel they have had a bad service experience I would suggest to give it another go and take a bit of time to talk to people like they are family if you can (not swamped obviously). When it is packed and orders are creating long waiting times because they are feeding 60% of the Guildford area make sure you call well in advance for pick up or delivery. Understanding when business is busy and is not is very important in relation to service level. When you are a regular and show love they show love right back! Whether there is time to chat or time to take it a go really depends on the volume. I went to one place claiming to be busy that had 4 people in it, nobody at tables, all waiting for pickup. That was their excuse. Lee Yuen tables are always filled with people and a few people pickup up, they are legitimately busy. I actually quite enjoy the old school theme as well, because I have been going here so long, it is how I always remembered it, it's got nostalgia for me, I'm not sure if I would want the change. Hope my feedback helps new people and other's willing to give a go again help! Big Hugs, Much Love *Pickup For Patrick :P)
